Broken door lock = ghost?

so me and a few kids are chiling right now and my friend goes to tell us a story about how his family thinks his house is "haunted." here it goes:
friend: "so we think our house is haunted"
us: "why? what happened"
f: "well the cusions were in a pile the chairs were in a circle, the bathroom door was locked from the inside, no money was taken, the gate was locked, there was a screw to hold in the gate, and the door lock was ripped out and thrown across the yard."
right at that point i say "WAIT.. the door lock was ripped out? what made you think that was a ghost??"
we all break out laughing
f: "what, i dont get it"
us: "you're retarded, why would a ghost need to break a lock?"
f: "i dunno i guess it never occurred to us"
we make fun of him and laugh for literally 6 minutes

it was kinda one of the "you had to be there moments," but put yourself in that situation and you'd find how hilarious it was
