What Do You Say When Caught Ducking Rope?

Powder only on closed trail, ducked a rope, had a lot of fun
ski patrol was waiting at bottom of the trail. i got a warning no ticket pulled got lucky
so what is the best thing to say to patrol when caught
i just said "sorry it will never happen again"

From a pro patroller: just say sorry, that it wont happen again, and be respectful. Honestly we pro patrol because we want to ski and if you're being caught its probably because we see you while poaching ourselves and have to save face somewhat so you guys don't use the "well they were doing it" excuse on us. If you're a dick than we'll be a dick, but really, just chill and they'll be fine with you. Unless it's a volunteer patroller and then you're just fucked because they suck.

i know this is super random but i found it funny when you said " sorry, it will never happen again" because i just learned yesterday that sorry literally means " it wont happen again" where as " I apologize" means what most people think sorry means. I still use sorry the way most people do though, and yea i say the same thing as you usually.

the other day i ducked a rope to ski some pow and the patroller sled was heading straight up towards me and i was just like " oh fuck" ( im pretty sure we all know that feeling) anyways the guy tells me theres like 3000V lines in the snow and i could die if i ran over him, i found that very very very ( !!!) hard to believe but i was polite and said sorry and got off the trail. It was obvious he was trying to scare me though-

i havent been caught ducking rope but i have been caught going fast on green runs even when noones around. the ski patrol stopped me and was like "no time is a time for tuck position".

I respect patrollers out west who have to deal with avalanches and big time terrain but seriously to all of you eastern patrollers suck my dick...the majority of you think you own the mountain and its ridiculous. Beware smuggs im jumping the lift and sending sterling rock over the next month. CLAIM

i had a funny one the other day where i didnt duck any ropes i was just skiing some trees and i got in quite a bit of trouble
it was a volunteer patroller though

really though just suck up, be cool about it, say you're sorry, etc.

This happened to me today. Ski Patrol said, "That trail is closed" and I responded with, "Weird, it was open this time last year" - shrugged my shoulders, and skied away.

yes actually my hill just dropped big money on some brand new top of the line snow makers and that run had about 3 guns going ( not nozzles but the actuall guns) and i just realized how fucking dumb i was for not realizing my edge could possibly slice the wire. Becuase i was thinking that even if i ran over the wire how would it electricute me but i forgot that my planks have sharpened metal edges( stupid stupid stupid)

ahha this dude at stowe was telling me that he just had to buy a new ticket bc he ducked the rope on the trail under the chair and when the ski patroller asked him what he was doing he said "skiing you asshole, fuck off" or something along those lines.....for the guy talking shit on ec ski patrol i agree for the most partbut try bringing a sled anywhere near the face chutes at jay u will shit urself

yesterday i got caught on a trail taht was seriously like 300ft long and no snowguns were going and the snow hadnt been touched and as soon as i stopped at the end of the trail a patroller who was up on hte lift who saw me started screaming at me that he would take my pass if i ever did that again... it turned out it was this kid at my shcool that has 0 (seriously though) friends, is an arrogant asshole,  and he thinks he owns the mountain. then he stopped me at the bottom of the run and yelled at me again so i told him to chill out and get some friends and skiied away =P

Tell him it was open, like the rope wasn't up or something. Worked at PC when we ducked the rope into the park.

I say i was skiing in the woods and came out on that trail and i didnt realize it was closed. that has worked at stowe and some other places i forget... or just out ski them and dont get caught.. thats more fun

i just ski past them, if they go out of their way to chase you down i first say my music was up all the way and thaz y i didnt stop. Then wen they confront me about the whole closed trail thing i said i got lost in a glade and just ended up there.

If they actually catch me in tha act of duckin the rope than i jus stab them with my pole and ski away.

once we didnt duck any ropes but skied this sick pow area and ended up in a dead end basically so we had to hike out a bit to get onto the trail which endedup to be a permanently closed trail and the patroller was like what u guys doin in there were like uhhhh hes like was it good? then he proceeded to show us some dank spots
