Is this worth anything?

My school just got brand new Dell computers and we were helping unpacking them today and noticed that they were throwing away CD's that came with them. A lot of them were Video card config CD's and what not but a bunch of asian kids were taking the red ones which are Windows Vista Reinstallation DVDs.

Now is this worth anything at all? It has stickers with serials and everything on the back and I haven't even taken them out of the covers here's a picture:

you NOOB. they're dell oem vista discs. they're worth $500+ on the street, didnt you know that?

yes, depending which version of vista it is(home, premium, business calss, and what service pack) it can be worth like 100-200 dollars. generally the only time you would need that is when you are reformatting a computer straight down to nothing.  but if someone really messed up their pc chances are it could come in handy.

i would buy one in a heartbeat if it was xp... but fuck vista...

my computer is really fucked too... i can only run firefox, and i have to start it through ctrl+alt+del... cant even run windows

This is all speculation but I think it's a reinstallation disc.  The computers came with the OS already on them, so those CDs are only if you need to reinstall the OS on those particular computers as the registration numbers would already be in use.  I dunno just a guess.

yup that is worth some money.

but yea i got my laptop with vista and downgraded it to xp. its confusing to do but deff. worth it.

well considering it is a vista disc, it really isnt worth anything.

Incorrect. If you have a dell pc using a dell installation disc it will not ask you for a serial or anything it must be used with a dell but it is perfectly good for a free copy of vista
