I think so. I mean yea long skis are great at speed and on groomers but a park ski doesn't necessarily need to excel at that. Fastest youll ever bee going is into a park jump and that isn't even that fast. Short skis would be lighter, better swing weight, and be easier for tech tricks like 270's on and switch ups. Also ns's favourite pirate Cedric Tremblay Fournier (apologies if name is spelt wrong) definately uses short skis his edits prove it time and time again and his tricks are very snowboard oriented and progressive. Nosepresses and tail presses to spinning out all in his repetoire.
I mean if freeskiing ever wants to have a future i hate to say it but it must move away from its mogul/ariels roots and move towards proper board sports. lose the poles, ditch the long lengths, and were essentially snowboarders facing forwards.
