i came across this ice protector in ski mag that perserves snow. in aspen 80% on the snow form april lasted until opening week in november!
its simply a tarp that blocks UV rays keeping the snow piles from melting
this at sunburst could allow opening in mid oct. and last until april. this also means less snowmaking and summer sessions
problem is, its $12 million for a square mile. i dont know how much sunburst would need but it wouldnt be near that much. probly a quarter mile for $3 million.
i talked to steve and he said that if we ate at sunburst instead of mcdonalds he could afford it 8-10 years.
