Nikon D90 DSLR

Just wondering if anyone owns the new Nikon.  Its the first DSLR to have a movie feature, it captures at 1280 x 720 HD...and its something like 12.3 MP still

I have read reviews and seen several examples of the movies online, and they are really good in quality, there is however no auto focus on the cam, so you cant just be a soccer mom, you've got to plan and what not for shooting skiing...

I'm looking for a DSLR and i figure why not buy the one with the HD movie feauture right?


Does anyone know anything?

i have a D90 and love it. I dont use the movie feature very much but for me the lack of auto focus isnt a big deal. I always shoot with a super wide angle lens with video and it doesnt require much focusing anyways. if you take mostly photos and like a clip or two every now and then you'll like the D90

Nikons intentions with the HD video was NOT to make little home movies
it was to set up the shot.. focus in... and reocrd a video so you can go into it later and pick out the EXACT perfect frame you want at the full 12.3 mega pixel resolution.

Are you retarded?  Do you honestly think that it records every frame at 12.3 megapixels?  No, it's 720 which is no where near the quality of 12.3 megapixels.  I can't even fathom how large a 15 second clip would be at that resolution.

It records at 1280 x 720... that's only 0.9MP you goofball.
Recording at a 12.3MP equivalent resolution is fucking retarded.

haha what i was getting at was, is it worth it to go for the video aspect of it and pay some extra money over a comparable cam that has the same still capability...
