First day riding on my new JJs i landed on what appeared to be a nice soft pillow that ended up being a nasty set of rocks..the bottoms took a pretty heavy hit. I have p-tex to fill in the gashes..but there is a huge one right along th edge..it goes past the bottom sheet..do i need to take it to a shop and have it professionally done..or can i just do it on my own..which ive done before its just never been nearly as bad..

for the money you probably spent on those skis...id make sure they get fixed the best possible way they can, so if your not sure get it professionally done...and sorry about that man, i was thinking about taking mine out for the 1st time this weekend but this makes me think now...anyway haha howd you like them?

If its real deep and bad and they are brand new skis bring it to a shp and get a base weld. Usually runs around $10/icnh, but most shops accept beer as payment if they are young. Did it to some bluehouses and got the baseweld and you cant tell anything ever was wrong

dude, don't even sweat it. you buy your skis to use them, not look pretty sitting in the corner of your room. get them fixed and then get out there and fucking run'em!

Baseweld is really the only option. I know we have weld wire specifically for use near the edges. Has heatactivated epoxy to stick to the edges.

go to a different shop. My shop hooked me up with a 6 inch baseweld for $20 and had it ready the next day
