Looking to buy a camera maybe Canon Vixia HV30 have some question-help

Sorry for another camera thread but, Ive been looking to get a hd camera for a while and dont have that much money i have an older cheeper cam and have been looking to get something new and upgrade, i was looking at the Canon Vixia HV30  had a few questions though

is it good for the money, how are the manual focus settings and what not, seems like a stupid question but whats the difference between the Canon Vixia HV30  and the v20 anyother info would help a ton since im a big beginer to this stuff thanks guys

i just got a hv20 about 2 weeks ago.. i dont have a firewire cable yet.. so i cant see the quality of the video on my computer yet.. but from what i've seen its legit.
if you check older threads on here.. everyone whose looking for a relatively cheap hd camera is suggested to go towards the hv20 or hv30 (same camera basically.. hv30 just has a few more features since its newer)

only a few differences - hv30 has a newer zoom toggle, the hotshoe cover is tethered on, it can shoot 30p, and 3 other things i forgot. theres only 6 differences and apart from being able to shoot 30p, they're all pretty minor.

thanks guys anyother oppions is it the best i can get for the money or should i get some thing else and any one have  footy shot with it so i can see what it looks like once uploaded and edited

Word, Amazon and B&H are the only places to buy your cameras online. I wouldn't risk that amount of money anywhere else.

i just bought a hv30 package off ebay, but i think i wasted money, it was like 700 for new hv30, 2 lenses, tripod, 3 tapes, hard and soft cases and mem card

Okay so I'm seriously considering getting an HV30 mainly because I don't think either of my PC's can handle AVCHD and I'm not planning on upgrading anytime soon. One quick question...should I hold out another month or so to see if any new cameras are announced in January? Am I right in assuming there usually is and will be new announcements?
