generalist statement yes. truth, probably some there.
a 104 year old woman patient of mine (who is sharp as a razor) who i developed a 3 day relationship with in the hospital (as in a saw her three days in a row in the ICU sickos) said that in her opinion we are headed to another great depression. perhaps worse than before. i trust wise old women like her.
we are in fact in uncharted territories. we are no longer an agricultural society like we were in the 20s, but who knows where we are headed? we seem to be a society based on manufacturing, but with india and china taking bigger pieces of the pie, and everything left in the US crumbling for decades now, perhaps there will be a monumental, painful, years long shift just like in the 20s and early 30s.
as the youth of this generation we should feel privileged and scared to be a part of these times. i know its hard to fathom for some of the younger people on here, but pay attention because these memories of this time period will be unique for the next 100 years or more.
