Replying to Locksmith rant
So i stop at the local gas station this morning for my usual coffee and donuts, go inside and leave the car running, i get my shit come back out and my car was locked, keys inside. my only set too (dad lost the spares last year) so i talk to the cashier for a sec, we call the cop shop and they say they arent allowed to unlock cars anymore. So i call 411 and they connect me to a locksmith company in the next town over, 5 min away max. They say a technician will be there in 10-30min. 2 hours later im still at the gas station, cars still running, and i finally get a call from the guy thats supposed to come. He had such a thick easter european accent that i could barely understand wtf he was sayin. This gas station is at the intersection of the 2 major roads through the town, pretty easy to find
he keeps asking for the address and i tell him its at the intersection of three points blvd and highway 110/commerce blvd. I finnaly find a receipt and tell him the exact address: 5550 Three Points Blvd 55364
The fucker couldnt spell it, i say it again and he says
5555530 Points blvd 55361, the dumb part is that the town the company is in has the same zip code, its basically a suburb of our suburb, Finally after about 10 min he gets it and says hell be there in 20-30 min.
My dad calls me immediately after i hang up and tells me he called the guy in our town and said he would be there in 5 min, i call the other guy back and tell him i wouldnt need him anymore and he says great i was just about to leave. The other guy shows up, and in 5 min my cars open and i pay the guy, he even took 10 bucks off cuz i paid in cash, so it was 40 instead of 50. Just as i get in the car i get a call from the woman i talked to when i first called, about 2 and a half hours ago at this point.
She tells me that because they had allready dispatched the guy I have to pay a cancelation fee. I ask her when he was origionally dispatched and she said about 10 min after i first called her. So the guy had been dispatched and finally was mabey going to leave 2 hours later. I told her that the fact i had to pay was BS. I had waited 2 hours, missed 3 classes, and used 1/8th of a tank of gas before i found out the guy was about to come. The other guy did the whole job in less than a 10th of the time they took just to get going and did it for 30 bucks less than they wanted for them to do it. She said it was company policy that I had to pay, I asked her if it was company policy to leave a customer waiting in -7 degree weather for 1.5 hours more than he was told it would be, and not even call to say that there was going to be a delay. She then tells me that if i dont pay they will send the info to my creditors, and take me to court. At this point i tell her that i deserve some credit for the time wasted and lack of customer service, she said she could take off some of the cost, she said it was 40 for the fee, i told her im only willing to pay 10 at the most, she agreed and i payed.
I missed 4 classes, used 1/8th of a tank of gas, and had to sped $50, but thats better than the $80 the dumbfuck company wanted to charge me. Seriously ive never seen a company so terrible ever, terrible customer service, employees that can barely speak english, and redicously high prices. And the guy who opened my car said that once a week he hears a story bout the company that i dealt with, Apearently they once left an 75yrold woman out in the cold at 11pm for 4 hours.
