Hey so i'm at a fork in the road with my life
Job market sucks, so i'm thinking of making the most of it and coming over to ski for a while..
I have some friends in Big White and a couple in Whis..
I live in Australia, so assuming I can get from Sydney to Vancouver - whats the best way to get to BW? Fly or Bus? and would I need to book in advance or can i just cop a bus ride from the airport (i.e. how frequent are they? cost?)
I would be looking at last minute accommodation, but I think i would be ok if I could get to one of the resorts whether it be Whistler or Big White.
Any advice for me in general?
Thanks guys, i rarely look for advice on these forums but in this case it could be useful!

Greyhounds aren't too bad over there, you could get to Whistler for about $50 or to Kelowna for about $80, run a few times a day. If you can book a bit in advance, it's worth getting a flight. Save the hassle. I think you can get from Vanc to Kelowna for about $110 from memory.
If you can't get a lift up to BW from Kelowna, try to get in contact with a guy named Taylor from All Canadian Escapes. He runs a little shuttle service and he's a really good bloke, usually hooks up a good deal.
If you're in need of accommodation in either place I might be able to help you out.
Good luck with your trip

Looks like if i went i would stay in Whis at the Pan Pacific, so i guess it's just a few hours on a bus from Van airpost and i'd be sweet
Then some list tickets on top of that and some super expensive food/drink prices and i'm all good!!
Hopefully it happens.

Yeah it's a realllllllly tough call what to do.
I wouldn't be there for another few weeks, but I think this snowpack could have the same underlying issues for quite a while.
In saying this, it would still be a good trip away with friends and the snow will surely be better than what i'm used to skiing anyway

It depends, if this is going to be your one big whistler trip this isn't the year for it at all. If you're planning on coming back, there will be areas that will be quite good, and it is whistler. But the snowpack issues are definitely not going away in the next couple of weeks, even if they do improve.
