Threads turnign blue?

why do the threads like randomly turn blue? i dont like it. it confuses me

Threads are blue if they haven't been posted in since your last log off. Or log on... But I think it's log off. So if you logged off and logged on right away all the threads would be blue. I like it because it shows how recent things have been updated since I've been here last without looking at the date.
