Full Sail University in Orlando

one of my homies got an audio engineering degree (or something like that) from there and he had nothing but good things to say about the place.  its a pretty good school from what i understand.  he landed a pretty good gig doin' sound and lights for some pretty decent venues on the e.c. right after he graduated.

Hey I actually visited the campus last fall. The place is unreal. They have their own back movie lot and their own indoor studios which are huge. Basically they have anything that the industry has or uses. Their sound-stages and editing bays are dope. Everything is more than you would imagine. Another nice thing is your surrounded by motivated people and there are audio engineers and graphic artists and animators all around you so if you need help doing something sick on a film its right there. But be ready to strap down and do film all day everyday. If you don't devote yourself to it you will get spit out and you won't stick out come graduation. Be ready to live film for two years of your life. If thats what you want I would go cause its an awesome and highly respected school and if you excel there then your sure to get a good job and good opportunities. It seems like most of the notoriety of the school with regard to jobs holds alot stronger on the East Coast then on the West though.

I'm here right now . Second day of class. Its amazing.

2 year program i think 50 g's a year. my next door neighbor went there and hes making bank. enough to buy houses. i know another kid whos there who says it really good.

I guess ill be the first to give a negative post about Fail Sail.  I know many people who have either worked with full sailors, or are one themselves. All of which said the degree was overpriced, and useless. I actually had a teacher from IPR who was a graduate say that I am better off with an internship or just a run of the mill 4 year degree. The only good things I hear about Full Sail are from the students which are prolly in heavy denial and are realizing that they are paying a ridiculous amount of money for a degree nobody cares about.

In a world were degrees are getting devalued at an exponential rate, its not a wise choice to shell out that kind of money for a 2 year degree, when after all media arts is heavily based on who you know.
