i think he is an amazing producer but second rate mc at best. that being said he is still light years above lil' wayne who has got to be just about the worst rapper alive.

IMO Dr. Dre has a huge level of seperation between MC and producer skills.  He was sick producer back in the day, but he was always better at producing than mc'ing, which is why on straight outta compton he doesn't MC as much as the other guys.  He's just slightly clumsy.

I don't really think West is a good producer or MC though

I have always enjoyed his producing and his rapping skills. From Through the Wire to Good Morning. Also, He put on the greatest performance out of any rap concert I have seen. This new stuff is garbage, but he has another rap album coming out in the summer. If thats good, I will stay a fan. But, if its garbage then screw him.

You do have a point, his early stuff was good, but it was all downhill from there. And it really doesn't help that he's the cockiest person I've ever heard.

ya sampling is the heart of hip-hop, straight up. im pretty sure the thread maker is being sarcastic though. its more like every two days someone rips a new one on kanye.

that video was hilarious, especially at the beginning where he was just mumbling into the mic a bit off key.

Couldn't agree more..

The College Dropout was a sick album, and Late Registration was more than OK. But his newest album and his new style is just weak.. That's only my oppinion though
