So normally this type of thing wouldnt really concern me too much because its not that deep of a cut.  But...

1. The cut is 2" long.
2. Its right underneath my front toe piece.

My initial reaction was to melt the top sheet piece (the piece is still attached) back to its normal spot.  It was in the gondola to go up for the first day of riding so all I had with me was a lighter. 

Yea okay this was stupid but it seemed good at the time.  Day of riding went fine piece still together and everything but the piece is bubbled and I am worried that I may have melted the core as well.

My question to you is will this mean my core is fucked and going to get water damage leading to a binding pull out?  Or did my quick thinking lead to my ski being saved?

sounds like a good quick fix... as long as the stop sheet was sealed while you skied you should be ok. I dont think that using a lighter will melt your core assuming that its wood... burn if anything but i dont see that happening.

i say good thinking prob saved your self some bad news down the road, maybe make a more permanent melt and level it out.

are your skis line? that happened to 2 of my friends line skis. prolly due to the cap construction.

man no idea how this shit happened.  first day look down at my ski and bam huge chunk out of it. 

and they are last years fujative so similar to the line skis.

Just cut the piece off, and seal it up with marine grade epoxy.

thatll make it water tight, and you should be ok. fuck cap skis man, that shit slices too easy (that being said, i have two pairs of anthems haha)

i have the same problem. heres a pic theres a couple more in my pictures. it happened last night and i didnt notice it and i skied all day on it today. am i screwed? how should i fix it so i can ski on it tomorrow? you can see the wood core and it probably got pretty wet

That is delam, which generally falls under manufacturing error, which can be warrantied.

oh ok will it matter that it happened because i hit a gnarly rock? they are armada pipe cleaners, is armada usually legit about warrantees?

If it's dreadfully obvious then yes. But I've heard super good things about Armada's warranty dept. It wouldn't hurt to try.

shit i just looked at the website and its just a one year warranty and they and like 14 months old, so i dont know about getting them warrentied. is it possible to fix them or should i just look at getting some new skis?

it is a topsheet tear, caused clearly by all of those marks on the sidewall, most likely from clicking your ski's together on the lift.  most companies won't warranty skis for you clicking them together like that, especially when they can see that there was some sort of impact where it is happening.
