Cold + Rain = No Power

Here in Southern Maine, it rained all night and was like 28 degrees, so it all froze. A ton of trees around my house are falling down, and there's a half inch thick layer of ice on every surface. I haven't had power since sometime last night and we're going to turn off the generator soon. I'm so jealous of all you peeps in VT getting a lot of snow, it's just raining now and it sucks. That's not a dusting of snow, it's all ice. The pics don't capture it too well, but it's really white and looks like snow. Anyone else getting this?

same thing happened in northwestern ct. every 25 mins oull hear a lound ass bang, and itll be ice sliding off the roof or a tree falling down.

damn man, yeah it rained so much here in southeast MA, i couldnt drive to school because I knew the funbus wouldnt make it.  I hitched a ride from my friend who has a truck.  I hear there's gonna be bad black ice later, so the shit's intense.

im in albany ny and theres a major poweroutage from a cell in rotterdam. i came to school just to be warm and get on the net. ive heard from friends that power is out in parts off mass and also east of albany. im assuming basically all of ec got hit with a lot of ice/snow and power is out in most areas.

im from MA so i was bumming cause i thought everyone up north was getting pow! did all northern states get rain? or did some places get snow.. i saw that ny got snow.. but how about the VT area?

here in western mass i woke up to no power and 2 hour delay at school, while on the way to school all the rivers had flooded over teh roads and then i was pickin up my friend who lives on a dirt road, and there was this whole in the road where the stream goes under the road and it had dug out a whole that took up half the road, we almost drove straight into it

we're supposed to get that over here (seattle area) tonight.  Supposed to get down to 17 degrees, some snow, lots of wind, possibly power outages, and rain goes without saying.

Earlier the sun came out for a little while and it got up to around 35, so some meltage took place. I still don't have power and cooked my dinner (spaghetti + sauce) over a Coleman Stove outside, where it's beginning to snow. (generator only runs my well pump, PC and kitchen light). It's getting cold tonight and supposed to be a high of 23 tomorrow. Sigh. Well, I got excited for a little while when it started melting; even went sledding for a bit on the softening ice sheet.
