if you had a jet on a biiiiiiiig conveyor belt, about the size of the run way itself, and the conveyor belt sped up consitently with the jet so it wasnt moving anyware, jsut sitting there attemtping to take off, could it fly away?

i can't see that happening, bro. all's i gotta say is that plane would be screwed when it runs out of gas, because eventually it will end up happening and the plane will be shot backwards into something and crash.

no, but they should do that with the conveyor going the other way, then the run way would only need to be like half the size

its like when youre on the moving sidewalks and when you walk off the end you almost trip cause youre walking so fast

No. Flight requires air passing over and under the wings of the airplane and since the plane is not moving forward there is no air movement to initiate flight. If you want a comparable situation think..do you feel wind blowing against you when you run on a treadmill?

i was saying that an airplane dosent use its wheels too move forward when its taking off, so there for the converer belt wont do any thing.

(puts on eboxing gloves)  jets need lift under their wings to take off, duuurrrrr and you dont get that from standing still, the jet engine itself doesnt creat lift, it creates the speed to gain that lift
