Im still trying to slide my first rail this year...im not doing to well, anyone have any pointers on learning to ride rails?

i learned to pretend my back foot is like 1 mm off the rail so u are leaning really forward, it helped me, so try this and message me if it dont work

make sure you get the full 90 degrees on, keep your balance directly above your feet and concentrate on the end of the rail. biggest thing is if you feel like your slipping off, dont worry too much to correct or you will over correct. it will come in time. since your from tremblant, id work on the rail/s in the mini park

Look at the end of the rail, thats the best advice u can get. Feet about shoulder width apart, one hard firmly on crotch like Steele spence in the December Freeskier. Thats it

Speed is very helpful. It is scary at first, but with more speed you will have better balance and slide the rail quicker.

keep your weight on your front foot. THat is pretty much where the balance happens. Your back foot is more for corecting your self.

^^ i think of it the other way.
I think of it like wearing rollerblades, although i dont rollerblade, but lets say if you did, you you dont land on the rail like you would with rollerblades, youd be fucked

Dont have more weight on either foot. You will find out why if you start sliding rainbows or kinks. Make sure that your weight is evenly centered on both feet over the rail. Also, try getting lower, it keeps your weight centered better and gives you more balance, plus its style points.

dude, if you have a funbox, those are excellent to learn on. First just slide it straight to practice the speed and where to look, then move on to actually grinding it.

on a straight rail, head towards it with the rail lined up right at your crotch, have your weight a little forward and you should get it

what i found helped when i was learning was to hold a hand out in front of me. that way i was putting more weight forward and it centered me better. try that if none of the other suggestions work. also think about where you are placing your feet on the rail, when i started i had a problem with putting the area under my toes on the rail and i would fall of towards my tails. think about getting your foot centered.
