whats so great about a pole company, unless they make stronger poles or cheaper poles or maybe poles with lasers on them cause that would be supper sick or if they glowed in the dark it would make night skiing so sweet

I lost one of my poles, so I stole a rental one to replace it. They're really kinked up, I think it shows that you're hardcore.

Ya dude, poles are so unimportant as an actual factor in skiing, unless you race or they are 30 lbs. Otherwise getting the $20 ones that are a tiny bit heavier isnt going to make or break your D-Spin. Mine are so kinked, but it def looks hard-core. I always bring an extra pole whenever I go, even just to hit up rails.

It always pays in the long run to get better quality and hence more expensive poles. A pair of $80 poles will last you much more than 3 breaks of some $30 piece of merde.

Ya, but I had $60 ones that broke about 2 months in, and then I decided to buy some cheap ones and they've lasted me 2wice as long.

Ok how bout this. Would you guys buy these poles if they looked mad dope and had incredible grips and were as close to bomb proof as it gets, similar to scotts top end line. Here's the breakdown I was thinking. Obviously this is subject to change as I am not the owner...simply a consultant.
bottom line: Stylie colors and paint jobs, alluminum pole, universal 'parallel' grip for 40-45 canadian.
Top of line with two styles, light weight and durability.
Carbon fiber - Carbon fiber weave with parallel symbol and red dragon airbrushed on, strong and sharp ice picks, universal parallel pole grip choice of soft rubber or gel inner hand hold. unique pull and go strap tensioner etc $80
Aluminum - same as above in different colors and different logo but slightly cheaper. $60
The best part about the company is that it will be compared to grenade for style and keepin it real factor.
suggestions ...?

they better not be more than 20 bucks because 2 metal poles you carry around arent very important as long as you have them.

poles are so unimportant. i bought a pair of 10 dollar steel poles, and they rock. if had um so long- like 5 years. their bent up, but if i wanted too, i could take a torch to um and straighten um, but y? next time i biff on a rail and atack it with my pole its just gonna dent um a little more- but they wont break. poles are to small to worry bout paint and shit.

Yeah a good grip could be cool but 60 FUCKING DOLLERS. Thats alot dude, the majority of us buy all our own gear and don't have money for that kind of stuff.

that's $60cnd.. so it's only like $40US
but I also just get stolen rental poles. so 60 bucks is a lot more than free.

Everyone is talking like poles mean nothing, and that the cheaper the better. Clearly, you guys must never have skied with good poles. The right grip, basket, shaft, weight, everything makes a difference, whether you think so or not. Chances are, if you're skiing with crappy rental poles or cheap $30 poles, there will be a bend in the shaft, or you'll have a bend within no time. Perhaps a small bend in the middle, or a sharp bend near the end. Either way, this will completely throw your turns off and form bad habits. You never want to ski with bent poles. Ofcourse, if you don't pole plant when you jump, and just stay in the park all day, then it doesn't really matter. But if you're out there actually skiing varied terrain, you'll want decent poles. The short-term investment for the long-term benefit is unquestionably a good one.

Ok first of all, poles are too small to paint any cool graphix on, you cant tell whats on them except for colors. And if you have a slight kink in a pole its not going to throw you off! Thats ridiculous! Besides you dont even use your poles in the park, and in powder your poles just sink in anyways. In the air, I dont think a kink would hurt you much either.

Oh, so to give a suggestion Detective, just make them have a sweet grip, cuz that DOES matter, but make them as cheap as possible after that.
