Remounting just the heelpiece?

so i mounted 2 fresh pair of skis last month with my old boots, and about a week later i get told i can get new boots. i went in to get some full tilt hot doggers today and what do ya know my bindings wont go small enough for my new boots, gay. so i was wondering if its possible for a shop to just remount the heelpiece and bring it slightly forward? i phoned them and they said they'd have to remount the whole binding but i dont see why, maybe i could sweet talk them into doing it? so who's got experience here with this and gimme some answers?

exact same thing just happened to me. i remounted just the heels on all my skis. it really depends on how much smaller your boots are, if they are barely too small, you may have to remount both the heel and toe in a new location. if they are 10mm smaller or more, you can just remount the heel or toe. any competent shop tech can do this. go in and explain to them exactly what you want them to do until you are sure they understand you. make sure you are talking to the guy who is actually going to mount your bindings, not just some salesman. also make sure he rights it all down correctly on the work order, and ask for a copy. that way you have a recourse if they get mismounted

yep, shouldn't be a problem. That is unless your shop is lame.
