UBC-Sauder?

I was in Sauder first year.... gonna say not for me. Lots and lots of exuberant asians and accounting early in the morning 3 days a week wasn't exactly my cup-o-tea, but if it's yours then drink it up. But enough discouragement... Whistler is about 2 to 2.5 hrs from campus and there are buses that leave from the residences on the weekend which is dank (30 bones though). You're best off making friends with a car, or a person with one. Grouse and seymour and cypress are all closer (30-45) but offer a lot less terrain (Cypress is the best, but all three are decent for park riding). All the mountains have awesome student deals on seasons passes... UBC is pretty sick but I def did not enjoy my time at Sauder.

Thanks for the help, well I wanna start my own businness so I don't really mind and i'm really stocked. Is it  hard to get in Sauder? I'm pretty scared of the english test because my first language is french, i can understand well english and i can speak it but my grammar sucks pretty much. And is there a residence where students can live on the campus? thanks again for the help!

it's not too hard to get into... I came from the states and it was my safety school but it is definitely getting more competitive. If you have good grades and test scores I wouldn't worry. There are two first year residences, Vanier and Totem Park. Vanier is a little nicer (not much) and really studious and Totem is a bag of fun... so you pick. Any other questions?

I only have 3 classes right now so I can ski all the time.... but a full load 4-5 with a part-time job would make it pretty damn tough to put up numbers on the hill.

i would have to say out of the three, cypress is not the best, it is the most expensive, the worst park(by comparison of the other two), and is not worth the more expensive pass (only $5 more than a grouse, $10 more for seymour). Seymour has the best park by far, not too great for runs, but still way fun, sick vibe, and good backcountry if you find a group/know what youre doing. Grouse is probably the overall best with exception to lift lines, it has a sick park with rider input, good runs, somewhat busy, and an amazing view. I would personally choose grouse or seymour, but for you living out near ubc, grouse would be your best bet.

word, the only reason I said cypress is because my buddies were on the park staff so we rolled up all the time and rode for free, plus we got to set up our own features sometimes. And the only times I went to seymour the conditions were so nasty.

haha yeah i must say i am rather seymour/grouse biased. I live at the base of seymour, 90% of seymour employees are from seycove (my highschool) so i ride for free, and every year i get a pass for grouse, so i sesh both mountains equally,with exception to cypress because its way too far away, and i have to pay for it.

when you roll up to Cypress just walk up the path about 100 ft to the right of the ticket booth. It's a cat track that goes to the right and into the woods a bit. HIke up strap in and claim ignorance to the normal ticket purchasing procedure.

hahaha thats sick, ill keep that in mind for the next time i go to cypress
