help with park design?

okay guys. I live in Virginia, the crappiest ski state known to the face of the earth, but I deal with what I have. anyway, the park here last year blew. The takeoffs were super steep, complete lack of landing area, etc. I have been out west and seen nice parks (copper, breck) so I know why they are nice. But how do I a) try to help design and make suggestions b) get info on how building this stuff is done. I mean, what makes someone sick at designing a park (reference the cranmore park post)? any help appreciated :)

dude if you gather about 600 dollars you could come up to michigan and have some private lessons on how to build a sick park from a profesional park builder. this gyuy has like five or six years experience and built the best park in the midwest last year.

if you have seen copper's park you know what a good park is dont mix rails with jumps have at least 1 of evryting must have good flow (cant have a rainbow right by the landing of a huge booter)
should have some music playin

^ i disagree about mixing hits with rails. Look at some of the new park designs, they mix it up, but its hard, cuz u gotta, like ^ you said, make it flow

learn physics... oh and rails and jumps will work if say you have a couple of rails, then a jump with a good enough in run in case you can't hit the last rail, then some rails....ect untill you hit the bottem. make sure the landing is steep enough, and long enough. ie blow a lot of snow. and i mean a lot. at PC at the location of the biggest jump snow stayed a good couple of weeks after any snow around it was gone.

Park city also has a good virtual picture run, as do other resorts out west.

Check out frontside T.V. of whatever it is called. They have bios of a lot of the nice parks out west and they show AutoCad like drawings and pictures of each hit. They have every single terrain feature in the order that it is placed on the trail map so you can get some nice ideas of how to make the park flow from there. If you have any questions message me.

Flow is key. Make it so that there are a lot of options in that flow so you don't have only one super-sick path and the rest shitty. You could have a booter with a rail next to it - give 'em some options.

man i remember back in the day before newschoolers i think there was a ppark design site., it was sick. it had like all features like side jump, hip, pyramid, spine, stepup stepdown, quarter, etc. i cant remember what it was called . any of the oldies remember? i think it had a number in the name..
