270 onto rails

i can do them fine onto boxes but is doin them onto rails any harder different? any time i just fucken dont sack up and bitch out . are they rpetty much the same thing i can slide rails both ways pretty good

I assume your talking about a down street rail or else its the same thing. It's a bit harder but all you have to do is sack up and make sure you will land on top of the rail. I tryed them for the first time last week and it isn't that hard but you do have to sack up the first time cause it's quite scary!

how big of gap?
how wide the rail?

same thing as the box really.. just land over your skis with good balance and you will be lookin good my man!

just look into ur spin for the rail turn ur body right at the lip and ur skis will follow...then find where 270 is in ur spin and stomp it..get good speed too

yea its just a smaliish flat rail about 15 ft long or so with a prety small gap on not a hard rail figured its a good learning rail but thanks for the tips +k

first learned the 270 on last week and i had no problem with a box or rail although it was not single barrel

1) start your spin on the jump same as you would spinning onto a box. but make sure that you do not dirft in the air it is important to go straight off the lip.
2) try to get your spin to be exactly 270 its a lot easier to catch an edge on a rail than a box so you want your skis perpendicular to the rail.
3) you want to try to look at the rail before you land. look down and try to see the beginning of the rail so that you know that you have cleared the beginning, this will also help you land straight on the rail.
you want to keep you upper body and head facing the beginning of the rail to stop your spin and escicially if you are trying pretzels. this is different if you are trying to add a switch up before the end of the rail then you want to continue turning your body.

Oh man I have this gnarly rail, which always has the shittiest lip onto it, but I'm wondering if it would be a shitty idea to try it first time on a huuuuge rail...

def try to sport the rail at 180. My body usually doesnt' get fully 270, but as long as your feet and legs are at 270 youre good. IN other words, you can almost 180 and then whip around the last 90. this makes pretzels a lot easier too

i've been having the same trouble but on handrails. i can 270 on almost everything if the jump is relatively equal with the height of the rail/box. i need some help learning how to 270 on rails above jumps, handrail style. last time i tried i caught my tips on the way up.

pop a lot, make sure your tips get over the rail and then do your spin... hope it helps, it helped me

i can 270 onto boxes all day, but i am afraid that when i try doing it on rails i will fall backwards as soon as i hit the rail because the real hand rails are "more slick". All in my head NS?

it just takes practice on to boxes.  then just ball up and try.  i got really close, slid to the end of the rail then kinda nutted out.   but i didn't call it "landed"  here are some attempts from the session before that.  make sure as you are coming around you look at the start of the rail and spot so you know where it is under your feet.
