lil wayne has to be one of the worst rappers ever.  i just listened to the carter III and the last two songs are so completely opposit its not even funny.  it just makes him sound like the biggest asshole ever.

one song says this:

Carter 1 I liked. After that he got progressively worse and worse to the point hes at now.

lil' wayne is bullshit. i had a cd in my friends car of good shit (AOTP, Zion I, Mos Def, Federation, etc.) and this other kid in the car didn't like it because there wasn't any Lil' wayne on it

i was referencing the fact that B.I.G. always rapped about being poor and such despite being born into a pretty wealthy family and making it big before he moved out. no disrespect to Biggie, love his music, just pointing out that he was never what he rapped about being, same as Wayne is rapping about having to sling crack despite having more money than he would ever need.

I just don't really get why you're basing your argument on those 2 tracks. Neither Juelz nor Wayne raps about drugs or slanging at all in "Nuthin on Me" and in "DontGetIt" he's just talkin about the differences between crack and powder cocaine laws, how youth in the hood live different lives than those in the rest of America.

He is the reason why I listen to more underground stuff like; Kidz in the Hall, The Cool Kids, Dl Incognito, The Federation, E-40, Redman stuff like that.

that's no reason to listen to less popular music. there is a lot of good music that is very popular, don't throw it all away just because of one or two overhyped flamers. it happens in every genre. DL is on the rise and as far as i'm concerned has already made it big in the game, but that doesn't mean his fans should stop listening to him.

i'm not saying that you fit in this category, but there are a lot of people who will throw away good music just because their friends have heard of it, and that's just plain stupid. that would be like tossing out Moment skis if the company suddenly blew up and started selling to a much larger audience.

I feel like I've said this so many times, yet no matter how many time it gets repeated certain people always manage not to get it.

So, for what I hope is the last time, you CANNOT say lil wayne is a terrible rapper. You cannot state any musical artist is better than any other because it is all subjective. SUBJECTIVE. You are entitled to your opinion. However, your opinion is not a deciding factor in this matter.

as for the not making sense, first of all it's weezy, he rarely does make sense. Second of all, many rappers talk about how rich they are NOW and how they had to be out on the streets hustling back THEN. It's not uncommon. Lastly when he says we he probably isn't refering to himself in particular but to everybody that shares his previous sociocultural charateristics.

Nah, you just got flamed because you said E-40 and Redman were underground. I really wish people would just STOP using that term. What you are listening to is not underground, nothing anyone nowdays says is underground IS underground. As for dude above, I don't care that you don't like Wayne. It was just a question to the General Haters Republic. I used to be the first person to hate on "mainstream" rap, then I realized it was a waste of time. I could have a lot more fun bustin Flo-Rida lines with fine-ass chicks and gettin my mothafuccin Wheez' on.

Do you know what you're talking about. He was born in Bedford-Stuyvesant, which is a pretty shitty neighborhood. His father left him when he was two and his mom had to work 2 jobs to support him. Just because he made money selling drugs doesn't mean his family was rich too.

his mom may have worked two jobs, but did you see the size of the house they were living in? his mom even said that B.I.G. was pretending to be somebody he wasn't because he was very enchanted by that culture. she said that despite B.I.G. rapping about having to go hungry, there was never one day where he did. try to call me out on that and i'll post the interview right here.
