How to Create a Mashup

So im here sitting in front of my mac pondering the thought on how people like Girl Talk, Super Mash Bros ect. make there mashups

id like to know some general information, how they kinda do the stutters in betweeen songs ect.

any help apperciated

If you just want to something simple you can actually do it in a video editing program like Premiere or Final Cut. All you need is the acapellas and the beats and you can mash some stuff up.

If you want to get more serious you're going to need a proper program. But it's actually pretty fun to make gnarly mashups in premiere.

You can find a capella rap tracks on the internet then combine them in whatever program.

i've done it using premier before, they come out alright. its definitely fun to mess around with but yeah if you're serious you need a legit program

go through your itunes and chop small samples of good riffs or anything catchy in every song in your playlist. once you have like 100s of samples, go to Garageband and mess around.
