is a donkey dick like when the rail flattens out for like the last foot?
i dont remember exactly but i think there are some decent ones over by sewall hall/fitness center...there are also some over by chill ville that people used to hit all the time during freshman year
I lived there for 10 years (2 years ago moved up to carbondale to ski more) and in those years I saw/hit some of the few rails in boulder. BUT, dan armbruster, having gone to CU for this first semester has succesfully found and taken a picture of each and every last rail that resides in the boulder area. kid is a GOD I tell you. There are sooo many sick railz on boulder that are rediculously uber
Back in High School we used to hit the rails leading to the fields at Casey and Baseline MIddle School. They were ok.
Baseline is basically just a down rail. Casey is a down-flat-down and
has some pretty mean concrete stadium seating to the right that does not
feel good to fall on.
There are definitely more rails to be had, but those two were always
are best bet for avoiding police. This was back in 2003/2004 so not
sure how the police respond these days though.
Ya I hit the one at Casey last year and didnt have a great experience ha. Is the one at Baseline Middle the one you can see from broadway with the big kink at the bottom?
i have a rail setup in my front yard in boulder right now. we built a portable drop in for urban rails, but most of the kids i ride with never have motivation to go hit them. so let me know i would definitely be down to join and bring the drop in. the rail outside of coors event center is sick, but not something to spin onto.
im in boulder but i dont have my skis out here b/c my parents wanted me to get through finals and not go skiing instead :(... but after winter break I'd be down to ski with you guys.
if you want some super gnar look to your left across the river just before you enter the canyon that goes up to eldora n stuff--it's steep with a couple kinks n some side kinks
its in one of the level 1 movies, i think maybe travis redd does it in forward or shanghai six.
I've spotted some nice rails on campus and also some pretty difficult looking ones. Also does anyone know how strict the cops are towards skiers out here? - I just moved out here this year for school and I got a plea in abeyance back in March and if I get arrested arrested again between now and March 09 I'll be convicted of my first crime and I'll go to jail I'm pretty sure...
It fucking sucks. I livend in Nederland for one year and after came back to Quebec. I loved it so much their in boulder. I think if I remember well that they have some nice ones in Nederland.
theres a DFD-S rail right off broadway that ive been dying to hit now for a couple years. i think this is it, but we are gonna do it on a random night really late so we dont get hassled.
Where is the one off Broadway that you are talking about? Finals week sucks but I would still be down to get a study break tomorrow night if anyone is down to do some stuff. I have been to the ones my the medical center and it is cool, but hard to get a good jump on the down rail b/c of the angle...
Bump, if someone who has been busted by the boulder police / campus security during an urban sesh out here could answer my question I'd really appreciate it & +++K.
Also I remember scoping out some cool setups earlier this year out by the Coors center.
I got stopped on Carleson Gym rail last year like 4 times and they dont really care. They tell you to clean up and head out but no names taken or tickets given. I hear they just expect it since everybody and their moms hit rails when the snow falls...Just dont try Carleson because they are always driving past it
Once on campus while trying to do some ledge thing in the park structure close to the UMC I think....we were asked to leave and basically told if we came back police would be called.
Second time was at Casey. It was not the best timing (we were hitting the rail early evening) and someone from the school called the cops on us. They again said leave and dont come back.
But while some Boulder cops are chill, many are total fuckers. I could totally see them taking your gear, etc.
O and there are definitely some cool rails are the event center...
its on the corner of 27th Way St. and Broadway. i would be down to hit something up tomorrow night if theres still enough snow we should head over to lehigh.
Thanks for the info iggy & tooth, if anyone else has had boulder pd skiing experiences please share. Also +K to everyone in this thread for being helpful.
Which rails tonight and what about this book? What about the long flat bar behind the dining area at the darley commons. I saw it already had a sick setup. looks awesome and low key
Yeah, I was looking at that rail when I was down in the bubble the other day. Sweet rail, but don't know how the hell you could hit it since its on the sidewalk like 10 feet off of broadway. Maybe at like 3am cause you will have to in-run from the street and build a little ramp up the curb.
theres enough room to have the in-run all on the sidewalk its a little more than 10ft which is plenty for the drop in and lip. yea we were thinking 2-3am on weeknight.
yep. it sucks though cause i can only hit it when it gets later in the day. snow is too slow during daylight hours. we just finished hitting it for a couple hours.
19th and baseline?! i live in between 18th and 19th on baseline. first house in the ally on the right. i was walkin my dog and checkin out your setup from the ally if thats yours you live like 3 houses down from me. shit looks dope i wanna hit it...like right now
Also on the NE side of the coors event center is that huge dfd ledge, you come off right before it becomes flat again then land perfect tranny to a decent size drop to the parking lot. Right next to that there a same sized dfd rail, really steep though.
I went down to denver and hit a really mellow dfd at south high school. Looking for another rail tonight. Any good ones in boulder besides the ones mentioned already?
