Freeskier.com has a video from the roxy team... are you fucking kidding me. How is she a pro. She absolutley blows at skiing. I saw a straight air... a 360 safety grab the most hucked ugly 7 in the world and thr most wide open alpine BC lines ever with no danger to them at all....
Guys are throwing double corks while 9 yr olds have the same skill level as arguably the most well know female pro out there. its fucking ridiculous and reminds me of symms commentary on the US Freeskiing Open for women.

In EVERY other sport, while women can not compete with men.. they do hold their own. Soccer, softball, even basketball... but in skiing the women are an abomination.

Now let me say there are so killer female skiers out there, you guys know who they are but kristi leskinen and sarah burke... find another job.

Why can't you just be stoked for her? Do you get angry at your friends when they get to do something cool? I think you're just jealous because Burke gets to live the "pro" life; its not like she stole your spot in line to become pro.

I thought the video was good by the way, except for the music, the music was really cheesy.

not that i would expect anything more from somebody riding skis made by quicksilver/roxy, but you don't have to be a dick about it. i already knew this, just watch any women's comps and you'll understand. there is no reason to make a thread about it though.

Dude i dont understand where the hate is coming from, i just watched that video and she did a 10 with a fairly nice grab that she held onto...she also dropped cliffs. She is an inspiration to female skiers who want to progress, im a dude and im not sad to say shes a better skier than me

Guys are throwing double corks, yes guys are, but girls are not. girls and guys are not on the same playing field; as you seem to stupidly think every other sport is. take the best female soccer team and have them play the top male team, the guys will win.

and getting sponsored is fun too.  so give it up, skiing is fun no matter how you do it.

holy shit looked up quicksilver on wikipedia and they're fucking huge. had no idea they were this big, thought it was mainly a surf company but apparently they're big into skiing and boarding too. i am so out of the loop with this company haha

well, actually soccer is as much a sport for men as it can be....

and sarah is, ok i dunno about today and i dont want to check out the vid right now, but she was kinda decent back in the day. guys did something like the first nice sw 10s, d-9s, and she did no grabbed switch misty 9s, ok-railslides for that time and also kinda huge 5s and 3s...

but in the end, you cant compare. i mean, you could call women off from track & fields, basketball, swimming and so on, so they are only exercising sports in which theyre up to mens level. i can only think of climbing as a "physical" sport, where they could stay in your terminology.

to be honest, i hope your not believing the stuff you wrote. intolerance for other people in general, and for women in this specific case isnt helping anyone and is making a "better" man out of you.

maybe you were a little sarcastic, but my sarcasm-o-meter showed no signs of it.

Alright,

Hating on the girl is kinda lame. But let's be real. Girls do not throw as big as guys in comps. Guys throw switch double cork 12's. Girls might throw a natural 10 with a pretty shitty grab.

I really don't know how you can say that she slays equal to a Tanner Hall or Simon Dumont, becasue she flat out dosn't. Her banger shot was a ten that she barley grabbed and landed in a wash-out.

If there was a three-jump line and a rail in one of your local comp, you will see the girls division throw 3, 5, and maybe's 7's and nines. Then you might see a 270 or a switch up. The guys, you will see an extreme difference. Even if it's a local competition, the truth is, most guys on this site, who are Average freestyle skiiers (for being male) would make phenominal skiiers if they happen to be born as a women.

I'd just like to point out that the thread creator is being bitched at for "being a sexist" when almost every comment says "she shreds for a girl". That's basically like saying that he's a dumbass for not recognizing her handicap. Personally, I respect Burke but I see no reason why women can't up their game tremendously.

i like people like you, honestly. you can turn a sentence all the way, so it ends up in total agreement with your opinion. thats not easy, but i respect it.

though you just put the sentence "for a girl" as other guys used it to describe a handicap. i would say, as all who used this phrase, that women have an another approach at sports in general and park skiing in specific.

its not a handicap, but proven fact, that women cant keep up with men (in a way that you shouldnt compare them).

i can also point out, that women should step up in skiing. but to be honest, i cant judge it. i dont know how it is to ski as a women, and i dont think you can.

ye it took a while but girl skiers are starting to kill it.  ingrid backstrom slays backcountry line, battersby on rails, kya turski, kim lamarre are relaly starting to do some solid tricks.

and sarah has been around for a while man.  her knees have taken a beating over the years im sure they arent too hot right now.

i think she gets so much respect becasue girls like her and kristi were some of the OG female skiers in the game.

now on the other hand...girls like kaya turski should be getting more limelight...she is pretty tech on rails...
