Yesterday scientists for Health Canada suggested that, considering the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer, men should take a look at their beer consumption. The theory is that drinking beer makes men turn into women. To test the theory, 100 men were fed 6 pints of beer each within a one hour period. It was then observed that 100% of the men gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became overly emotional, couldn't drive, failed to think rationally, argued over nothing, and refused to apologize when wrong. No further testing is planned.

well, most people hardly ski a run long enough to have any aerobic effects, but If you try to ski a long run without stopping you can feel the burn in your legs, and become tired. So there is some health benefits, its just that alpine skiing inst usually treated as exercise.

well don't you feel really tired after a day of skiing? I know I do. All that skating between runs and stuff is pretty aerobic.

Noridic skiing is extremely beneficial to health, as I'm sure we all know. Alpine skiing, especially when at an advanced intermediate and above level can have some positive health benfits as well. Skiing focuses on the quads (will over-develop your quads), and your core (abs and lower back). Also, on the right runs and/or when skating/hiking, there can be a lot of cardiovascular benefits as well, and for anyone who thinks otherwise, ski a long ass bump run and tell me you are not at least winded.

Dude, easiest essay evAr. can't believe you needed to make a post about this.
Skiing is physical activity, which is also considered exercise. It raises your heart rate, as well as works your muscles. All of this helps build muscles as well as burn fat, as well as boosting the immune system.
Sure, there are other activities that are far more beneficial, however, skiing is still exercise. Oh and fresh air makes a difference on your body too.

The fresh air makes a huge difference. The physical activity, interactions with people and being outdoors all help to improve psychological/emotional health as well.
But back on the physical side, the human body burns more calories in cold weather (just to stay warm), so there is also a huge boost to the metabolism as well.

Its good in the way of excersize, and that its relaxing, but i mean its also high risk, you can get seriously fucked up which isnt good for your health, and then there's is the fact that years of apres ski partys can lead to liver serosis, so i don't know whether the pros out weigh the cons as far as health goes,

^ well, there are pros and cons to everything, the sorosis (SP) of the liver issue, Apre Ski is not a manditory part of the sport (well, ok, maybe it is), but the negative health issues can be easily avoided. As far as the physical (as opposed to internal) cons, any impact sport (I think only swimming is considered no impact) has possibilities of physical injury. Excercise in general if dangerous. Typically you can draw a very good comparison of risk vs reward (high risk, high reward). The only thing that I would consider a physical con, because injuries can happen with any sport, would be the injuries that are almost completely limited to skiing (MCL, LCL, and the list of knee injuries associated with skiing).
When people don't particiapate in a sport, or exercise for that matter, because of the possible risks of injury, I think that the sedentary (I know I used this word before too) lifestyle they choose is more of a health risk than any physical injury that they could recieve from participating would be.
