Help with drop-in Pictures

What is the best way to attach the down ramp onto the platform. I was just thinking of putting a 2x4 across the front.
Also, will my ramp design work? Has anyone done this? I was thinking that if i get my skis caught in the cracks it will be death

The platform is about 3ft tall but it is more like four because it is on a little hill and the ramp is eight feet long and three feet wide

that looks like it will be ok except it might be annoying to lubricate it...  if it needs it.  just my though
and hinges would be a good idea for attaching it..

if it was mine id go alot steeper than that. i like to get all my speed right away and then if i dont need as much move the jump back or rail farther away. i just dont like not having enough speed having to work hard to get it all.
