Not Shinbang, new boots

Hey, I just bought last years Rossignol scratch boots to get away from my Lange banshee's tiny toes.
But i have a problem with the right boot. My left one fits flawlessly and keeps me locked in comfortably.

My right boot though digs into my shin a bit, just when I'm standing. it feels sharp but i can't seem to pin point what's causing it. It digs in near the top of the tongue.
Has anyone else experienced this with their boots? Any suggestions?

One of my feet is about a half size larger than the other. that causes a lil bit more shinbang with my boots, cuz i have crappy boots. so for you that foot could just sit differently in the boot.

sorry for the double post. but what i suggest is to get a custom footbed. That could keep your foot in a better position, and may cut down on the bang.

Not shinbang, doesn't hurt from jumping, it's a pressure point on the tongue, just not sure how to get ride of it...
I've got a heat molded foot bed for the boot, they are nice, keep your heels in tight!

Is there anything on the tongue which would be pushing into your shin? If so, you can always dremel/grind down the hard plastic on the tongue

go to your shop where you bought the boots and see how if you can get some work done on your boots there.

I know this sounds crazy but this might be a defect in the shell. My gf tried on a pair of boots that did the exact same thing as you are describing and the tech took the shell in the back, heated it up and voila` no more pinch there.

So the way to fix something like that would be to heat up the shell just the shell (HOT like 160'F)( you can use steam from a crock pot (boot upside down) with a towel or 2 draped over the top of it to keep the heat in.  Then after 10min of heat, with gloves on put the liner in then put your foot in and buckle down like normal.

You can find info on how to do this at  www.zipfit.com  even though you are doing it for a different reason than the website is telling their customers to do it.

Good luck, my gf didn't want to risk it and bought a different pair of boots but since you're stuck, maybe this will help.

ive also got a reallly bad pressure point on the back outside of my left ankle/calf, ive only ridden like 5 times, but walking around i like limp and it hurts like a bitch, was wondering how to get that fixed, i was suprised because they fit well and everything and have been heat molded

I tried the heat mold, but the i think the problem is in the tongue, I tried them out again for about an hour and they still dig my shin just standing/riding. I went to a competitor shop, and they were more helpful than where i bought these. The tongue doesn't heat mold so the shape of my shin was digging into the wider plastic of the liner when buckled down. I'm going to put these up for sale and find a better boot for my foot and leg shape.

anyone have the SPK pro's or Dalbello's?

spk's are real wide and daebellos are really narrow so i dont know how your feet can fit into both and fit right.

just go to a bootfitter

You could take a heat gun, and heat up the tounge, then hammer and shape it to the shape of your shin. Also try taking an pocket knife and trimming back the excess plastic from the sides of the tounge.

i use last years pro models and i get such bad shinbang it hurts to walk... it just depends on ur makeup and how ur shin is made. i just got some pads put into my boots and i am waiting for my shins to get better than see how it works

I have last years SPK Pros, have skied 5 days (4 of them all mountain charging) in them so far and have found that as long as I pull the tongue up as high as i can, and don't cinch the liner laces down ridiculously tight, I get no shin bang. The only packing out they have done so far is in the heel, and I think with a custom footbed (anything is better than the junk it comes with), which I def. need, will help fix that.

I had horrible shinbang before with my salomon perfoorma x3's and I bought new Salomon SPK Kaos's  and  they worked perfectly for the first few weeks untill I wore longer socks that were very thick and now even skiing with out those socks my shins are KILLING ME !!! I only ski once or twice a week and my friend has the SPK Kreations and he says he barley gets any shinbang. My doctor sayed to lift weights with my foot. ANY ideas on how to get rid of shinbang other then booster straps PLEASEE INFORM  ME. (by the way what does SPK stand for?) Thanks.

SPK=Super ParK

and for shinbang, the socks shouldnt really make a difference.  id say get booster straps but it wouldnt really do much for spks.

shin splints are what cause my boots pain so go see the doc and ask him to look, but bot much can be done for it besides ice and a couple of weight lifts
