earlier today this thing came up on the bottom right of my screen (taskbar) and said "You have a security problem!" and its my little antivirus warning thing, so i clicked it. It brought me to a reported attack site, and gave me the options of "get me out of here" and "why is this site blocked?" with a warning about how it could be an attack site etc etc.
But since then, it pops up probably every 10 seconds, after i click get me out of here. It's really starting to piss me off...i like to do things uninterrupted.
so computer geniuses of NS-how can i stop this whole process? I don't mean allow this site access, but stop it from trying to access my computer so i can be online in peace without this damn warning.
basically....i wanna make it go away without damaging my computer

thanks douchebag, real fucking helpful.
You're right. Oh wait...no, i was in the library writing a paper, then came back to my laptop and was watching the new episode of top gear when it popped up. Not all of us here are chronic porn watchers like yourself.

Im pretty sure this same thing happened to me a while ago. What it is is a virus which poses as an antivirus, linking you to the site of a phony antivirus. It prompts you to download it, but dont. What i did is i did a system restore, which brings you back to your settings at a previous time and date. Tell me if that works.

that sounds exactly like exactly what it is. I've temporarily blocked if by simply blocking the site through mozilla, but i'm pretty sure that hasn't completely solved the problem.
and sorry, but when it comes to this type of stuff, i'm basically retarded, how do i do a system restore?
