If you're one of those lucky kids who bought new side wall construction park skis, with glossy topsheets and poppin' grafix (yo). I have some dire news for you...
SKIS AREN'T INVINCIBLE
Even after your first day, your side wall and top sheet will chip, especially with those brand new shop tuned edges. You glossy topsheet will get scratched, a lot, might even crack a little here and there.
You might feel betrayed, the pro who rides these same skis said in an interview he didn't break a single pair all season. You might be bummed your new skis look like shit now. You might even go as far as make a thread to proclaim this injustice to the freeskiing community! (https://newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/401064/)
Before you go and do that I have to let you in on a little secret. No one cares, this happens to everyone. You should also know skis are desposible, your edges will start to wear out mid season, eventually you'll see a few cracks and once the snow starts melting your bases will get scratched.
So please, unless your ski delams or your bindings tear out, stop making threads bitching about topsheet damage... it's really annoying. Stop worrying and ski.
