I'm not super up to date on DSLR's, but basically I'm looking for a middle of the road DSLR to take with me on my 3 month trip to Greece in the spring, and I'm hoping to spend around 1000-1300 total. I don't really have any particular convictions of Nikon vs Canon. I've read through a bunch of the DSLR threads lately, and I'm thinking about buying a D80 with a Nikkor f/2.8-4 24-85mm lens. I chose this for a few reasons, first of all, I liked the D90 a lot, but don't really need the video mode as I have tons of video equipment already, so this seemed to be a logical and cheaper alternative. I also like that it has 2 separate wheels, one for shutter speed, and one for aperture which I think is a big advantage over the D60 for example.
For those who know more than me about the topic, will this be a good choice/ are there other similar cameras I should look at?
