Car speakers

does anyone know much about them ? i recently got a pretty nice set for my birthday and am going to get them installed today. i heard when you first get them not to turn them up super loud, but to ease into it .... is this true ?

never heard dont turn it up too loud. what car do you have. the hardest part is taking off the door panel. google how to do that.

never ever heard that...
and yeah, depending on what kinda car you have, your door panels could suck.
i had no problem installing them in my honda accord, but my friend had to bring his chevy malibu into best buy and have them do it (since its mad hard to do it in them apparently?)

Anyone know how hard it would be to install on a land rover? I'm about to inherit my sister's and the speakers are shot so i'm gonna buy new ones.

ok this is what you seriously need if you're going to do it yourself the right way. I've done it in 2 cars and used this for both times. It's called a master sheet and it only costs $5 but it is details instructions with pictures on how to remove door panels safely and how to connect speakers. i would HIGHLY recommend getting this first (they have one for basically any type of car, you specify your car model/year/type/etc. during checkout if you order online)

ive heard about not turning them up all the way.....dunno how true it is but ive heard that you should only listen to your speakers at around half volume so the cone has time to break in a bit.

ive done a few installs (entered one spl comp) and depending on the car model ive found the biggest pain in the ass with door panels is getting the damn horseshoe ring off the window crank (manual rollup, never done automatic). Also, be careful about removing the panel so you dont have to replace the door plugs.

also, sound deaden your doors, itll make your speakers sound way better

thanks for the input, i'm not actually installing them myself either. if i did ...i'd probably fuck it up royally

Usually with brand new car speakers you don't want to turn them up insanely loud for the first 24 hours of play time.  They will last a lot longer if you break em in this way.  Feel free to show them off by turning them up real loud but don't leave them that loud for too long.
