National ski patrol members can get great deals on Ortovox as well as others. If you know any one on ski patrol ask them if they can hook you up. Otherwise try backcountry or local shops. Dont buy used.

you can buy used, just do research and know what your buying. also check out ebay and use the live discount, can get anywhere between 15% and it was up at 30 a couple weeks ago.

I wouldn't recommend a first timer to buy used. If you can thouroughly check the beacons functionality against another beacon then by all means by it but buying a used one offline unless its on a site like NS or TGR where you trust the seller would be crazy.
