What do people suggest/have for their AT setup.  Also how much do you think I should spend if I need bindings and skins?

If you are going to be doing any fakie landings, do not get Dukes or their cheaper equivalent, it will break them.

Trekkers are less than ideal.

I have Black Diamond skins and I love them.

Haven't broke my Barons landing switch yet like everyone says. We'll see though, still early in the season.

its tough to say. The black diamond frischis are good for doing like lines and shit, but they arent the ideal jib binding. As of now I dont think there is an ideal jib AT binding for launching cliffs backcountry jibs and shit like that. Id say the best way to go would be the duke. They are a little heavy but they have no chance of releasing into touring mode, I have heard many stories of frischis releasing into touring mode when not wanting to.

what I do, which is LESS than ideal, but works, is I bought good snowshoes, and a little kids sled. Put my boots and skis and everything into the little kids sled and tow it behind me, get to wear I want to go into the backcountry. If its a jump I boot pack the jump, its its a line I try to snowshoe up to the top, Throw sled down slope, hopefully it makes it alright, then I ski with my alpine pow set up

I just got '09 Volkl Bridges and the Duke.. Can't wait to ski them!

From what I've heard the Dukes are the only AT binding that is still bomb proof for downhill.. That's all from other people tho, I've never used AT stuff before.

I have karhu agents (line chronics) with pure silveretta carbon bindings, Technica Agent AT boots, G3 Alpinist skins, BCA Tracker beacon.

I wish I had wider skis and better bindings. The only complaint about my bindings is I sit up another 2'' on the ski cause of the plates. that means I'm about 6' 7'' on skis and isnt any fun. But other than that I've thrown just about everything at them in the last 3 years and no problems especially being 6'5'' 210lbs

I would go ahead and get the Fritschi's or Markers. but I think you have to take your boot off to put the binding in AT mode (correct me if I'm wrong) and that seems kind of a hassle.

I've got Black Diamond Accention skins and so far I love them.  FIrst AT-like setup for me ever, and so far its super fun.

I've got 09 JJs which are SUPER light. My boots are FT Konflicts and those are SUPER light as well.  I think they both make up for the weight of the Marker Barons. I went with Barons because they are 1. lighter then Dukes and 2. Cheaper then Dukes. So far so good. I'll be rallying them tomorrow at my local resort, so we'll see how they hold up.

ummm.. if you wanna do fakie landings you will want the dukes. They are burly as shit, so I would definitely go for them if you don't mind the extra weight. Dont get the Barons, they are very flimsy and pretty much all plastic.

actually, I think it's relatively well-known by backcountry skiers and those on tgr and such, but by people new to it, it's a good resource, especially us nsers being into the whole super fat twin-tip thing. i don't have a ton of experience with the freerides, though i have heard a number of people having them go into touring mode at the wrong time. the freeride pluses, however, ive heard nothing but good things about. i think they are a good choice for a touring binding, but if you're just doing short stuff, trekkers with a good alpine binding will be your cheapest/most versatile/most reliable option. I would just go for it and get the best gear for your needs, i wouldn't try and skimp here, though it may be possible to get a deal on bindings or something, though unlikely.
do you have your avy gear/training and a willingness to practice as well? safety first... seriously.

Hahaha youre funny. Aren't you from Missouri or something? Dukes are over rated piles of poop. I have a pair that I got last year and I wish I wouldnt have spent $400 on them. They seem so chincy and prone to breaking. Sure they make a GREAT resort touring binding because they basically are Jesters but as a touring binding they dont live up to their hype. I have heard that the ones coming out this year are better but I wouldnt waste money on them. They would be worth it if they were in the sub $300 price range but not worth paying full price for.

Having used about all of the at binders on the market my $.02. If your not going to use your AT rig just for touring. Dukes or Barons heavy, but ski most like an alpine binding, can ride them inbounds , A few breakage issues not uncommon for a first release of a product. having to take the ski off to switch modes isn't a huge issue for me as after climbing for an hour or two I like top get safe and fuel up before the down. Heel riser adjustment and height is lacking.

 Fritchi Diamirs my 1st at binder decent insta tele issues in the earlier models, the shittiest of touring strides frankensteinish, not a huge deal if you never try anything else, fairly good durability, high stack height and crappy ramp angle issues. Become loose, worn, after 100+ days

Naxo duribility issues in early models, good touring stride, anti istatele lock out, easy heel rise adjustment, alpineesc toe   Dins to 13 newer nx21 or 22 model looks bomber. Cons heavier, high stack height, older models prone to becoming loose ie losing tortional stiffness with use.  Bca = good warrenty

Silverttas not a lot of people on these bigger over the pond, I like these bindings and have been using a Pure freeride for 3 seasons for most of my touring, Pros light 1/2 the weight of above binders, good stride, din to 12, easy heel riser adjust. Mine have been durable but others complain of breakage. Can be picked up cheap these days. Cons can't use an alpine boot, least tortionally stiff,.

Dynafit most people who tour a lot and long swear by these as the holy grail. Tortionally stiff, low stack height, lightest weight, great durability. this year upped the ante with a 12 din model.Cons take some getting used to need dynafit compatible boots expensive, not really made for hucking or in bounds use shitty brakes. I broke down and am going the dyna route this season but have not used them yet due to having them on high $$ carbon fibersticks and shitty coverage in Wasangles

Alpine wreckers suck but  are an alternitive to buying expensive at sey up
