thanks. yeah, PM does have a pretty high rate. unfortunately they don't quite have what I'm looking for, and they're still expensive, even after the discount.
So that's what moment is doing with them. I asked them and they just said 'unfortunately they are not for sale'. I would have liked it if they had just explained to me why, as they kinda made it seem like they would not be reusing any part of them. I still like moment though, just thought they'd be a little more open. It'd be interesting to see a ski with a melted off topsheet though. I'd almost think that they would have more of an issue than the original problem of some untreated topsheet. I say this because they will need to add epoxy, and will likely have some residue from the original topsheet, which will add weight (I don't know if it is significant or not though). I trust they made a well thought out decision, but it would almost make more sense to me to sell those skis without putting any more money or time into them. who knows, but they seem to sell out of their skis and would profit more from increasing volume. refurbishing these ones must be costing a serious amount of money due to the labour and epoxy/topsheets, which are two expensive components of skis. oh well though, sorry for the ramble.
