I dont understand it whatsoever. There are better words when describing a point,person or product such as "valid", "good", "nice", or even "cool" it seems it has become an "it" word and not really being understood.

If anyone is interested in hopping aboard, I'm pushing for the word "genuine" and all variations to replace it.  For example:  "That guy is a gen seller." or "These skis are so genu" might fill the void you feel inside you.

Yeah!  I won't just say it on NS, I'll say it anytime I would say legit.  Let's see, maybe a year from now it will have grown so big, the whole nation will be saying gen or genu instead of legit.  I'm in, let's see if we can convert NS.  haha, I tend to dream really big.  I'll hop aboard for sure!

I'm guna start saying the word valid instead of legit.  Its gunna be so funny.  I always make up catch phrase type things and use them around like as a joke but not really.

accepted, accredited, acknowledged, admissible, appropriate, authorized, canonical, certain, cogent, consistent, correct, customary, fair, genuine, innocent, just, justifiable, lawful, licit, logical, natural, normal, official, on the level, on the up and up, orthodox, probable, proper, real, reasonable, received, recognized, regular, reliable, rightful, sanctioned, sensible, sound, statutory, sure, true, typical, usual, verifiable, warranted, well-founded
some I added: genuine, valid, sufficient
I am totally gonna use statutory and say stat.
