How to get a free lift ticket for a friend

So my friend recently got me a free lift ticket.
He went up to the lady at the ticket booth and he said that he needed a lift ticket for the day because he had lost his seasons pass and that his mom was working on getting another one for him.
And then the lady gave him a lift ticket and then he gave it to me and i saved 70 dollars.

every time i've lost my pass and got a temporary ticket they ask for your name and bring up your picture to make sure it's you.. i'm almost positive every legitimate ski mountain does this.. i think you just got lucky.

or.. if your friend actually has a pass and that's how he got it for you.. then yeah you could def get away with that unless they are scanning tickets..

well my mum used to work in the office so i no these people. once i honestly lost my pass or couldnt find it, then i just went to the counter, said "hey all there, how is it going, hey, hows your family" and all that stuff since i know the guys in there.

so they got me a ticket for the day without asking. but things like that only work as long as youre not abusing them

at my hometown mountain, we had to show our passes at the ticket counter to get a lift ticket, you couldnt just show the pass. the cashier would have to affix the ticket to the coat/pants herself for security reasons according to mtn rules.

if we needed to get a ticket for someone, we would just go down to rentals, give one of the kids on shift our coat and have them get a ticket on there then bring the coat back.

otherwise, you can always just cut the ticket.

at my home mt before i got a seasons pass i said i was getting a pass for my 4 year old brother.
they were free for 5 and under

Is this honestly the first time you've thought of this? Some places charge for a replacement ticket which is wack but most will give you a free ticket.

show up at like 11 or 12 and tourists are leaving by then, so just clip a ticket.

At my mountain they temporarily cancel your season pass for the day if you ask for a replacement ticket. They also charge 10 bucks the second time you ask and I think its $50 after that.

Well if your mountain doesn't scan tickets, or just sucks, then that will work. But any mountain with a ticket price over 50 bucks usually scans tickets and when you get a replacement ticket for you season pass, they deactivate your season pass for the day.

At my hill the first replacement ticket is free but they are required to watch you put it on and make sure its on. And for everyone after the 1st one you get its like 15 bucks.

i did this last year and she made me put the ticket on my jacket right infront of her, then i took it off and got caught for giving it to my friend. fail by me

At some mountains, they ask for your name, look you up, and disable your pass so it can't be scanned, then only the ticket works, not your pass.

I think you just got lucky. At Mt Hood Meadows you only get one free "forgot my pass" ticket, you have to put it on your coat/pants in front of them, and i think they print your name and maybe some other info on the ticket so if someone else gets caught with it they take away your pass.

It cost 50 dollars for a replacement pass at my hill. Last year my cousin lost his but they were nice and gave him a new one. The next day I found the old one.

Most people who use daypasses will have them showing right on their jacket/pants. If your mountain has a shuttle service, stand at the pick up and just ask the daypassers if they are going home and if you can snake their pass. Usually can get one by noon if you are nice enough. Make sure to carry some sidecutters or something in your backpack to make it easyer for them to remove the pass.

My friend said they lost their pass and gave me there ticket the ski resort like disabled her pass so when she tryed to scan it the pass to get on her pass didn't work.

i just dont buy tickets, my hill rarley check so i never buy them, i feel bad for skiing two years there and not spending any money, but 30 bucks for 3 differnt runs is rediciouls, but if they do check we jsut white out the date and put on the current one, works like a charm

Definitely, at mountains that scan you should expect this to happen. They do it at Stratton. A lot of places have figured out this "trick".

So I kept a seasons pass for last year and a day ticket this year.  DO they change the scanner code by year and by day or is it the same code?  THen I could just do some forgery with the dates and be set.  Which one should I try if they don't chang the codes?

I did that before for my friend, I felt guilty about it, but at the same time I was glad that my buddy got to ride the lift for the day.

at my resort they dont always scan, they just look at the date, so all you do is buy a ticket and go back in like 30 minutes and say you lost the ticket, give them the stub and voula

horrible idea. i know someone who sold a forgot your pass ticket to some guy, and got fucked for doing it. went through a lawsuit and is forever banned from the mountain
