So I ski the Alpes and like to do powder and park. And just jibbing the slopes and every obstacle that i come a cross. So i want a new powder ski. I have some rossi bc's from like 5 years old. Im thinking about the helbents coz they seem like the perfect powder jib ski. So i found some deals on the internet:
07/08 Helbents 400euro's
08/09 Helbents 500 euro's
08/09 Pontons 500 euro's
Whats the difference between them nd what would u suggest?
tnx

the 'toons are really just a directional powder ski. You go straight. You float like its nobody's buisness... the end. Simple, easy, floatation for.. probably too much money.
Hellbents are more of a jib ski. They are twintips still, so unlike the pontoons - able to send it in switch (if anything, they are at least a lot easier to come in switch than the pontoons...)
The hellbents also have a little bit (though not very much) more sidecut, so they perform perhaps a little bit better where there isn't powder, whereas the pontoons are downright terrifying if theres anything but at least 15 cm of fresh snow. I took them out during an early season demo last year just because I thought it would be funny.. lets just say the only other ski i've ever been on that was that terrifying in non-pow conditions was the spatulas...

pontoons are made for straightlining an AK face in like 9 feet of fresh, they won't be a very jibby ski at all. bents are soft and playful and you won't die on groomers, pointoons want to go straight and once you hook the tips into the groomer they just grab and throw you uphill, they're a 160mm rockered death trap on groomers from my experience, whereas the bents kinda slide around and get on edge a little and are fine. i would definitely go for bents unless you'll be skiing fast in a lot of pow

OK thanks,
But is there any difference between this year and last years bents? Nd would 400euros for last years be a good deal?

From my understanding, last years bents are exactly the same as the new ones.
