stage two is basically a tune, downpipes, intake and exhaust. He has plasti dip wheels. Without engine bay shots i call BS on the "stage 2" since he cant even afford wheels
agree, my friend's dad has one but he is always in china so its basicly his and it is so nice, one of my other friends had a gtr black edition and even through it would kick the Aston ass at a track, i prefer the Aston so much more its so comfortable and feels so fucking classy. also i would always take an Aston over a Ferrari(presuming i could only have one(i can probably never be able to afford ether lol)) simply because you can drive an Aston everyday but using a Ferrari as a dd is the douchiest move of all time. in summary im very jealous
hahaha dude your hilarious Im running a high flowcat down pipe (invidia) with a n1 so a full tubro back if you dont know what that is, I have a Cobb APt, with a cobb intake with a protune at ecs hahaha thats real funny cause stage two is basic mods. would you like to see engine bay shots? calliing me out on my plasti dip those are my winter tires. and lowering a car in new england is basically point less in the winter how ever I plain on Fortune500 or bc coilovers in the spring.
and stage 1 is basic engine maintenance (cobb AP map) I really dont go by (stages) just classify what mods I have, nothing serious or gonna i am done for a while. People just see "rims" an determine weather a car looks like shit or not cause the stock rims are on it, which makes no sense... Im not gonna through cheap ass rims, Im gonna wait an do it in time a do something decent....just my 2 cents.
haha.. fortune500 or bc... so basically BUDGET coils.. Atleast you didnt say raceland. With all those go fast goodies, id look into KW V3s or Bilstein PSS9s so you can adjust the dampening and rebound. That would pair nicely with some ground control camber plates.
If you are going to to Fortune500 go the extra step and get some Broadway Statics. If you haven't heard of Braodway, basically they are Fortune500 coilover bodies with fairly aggressive Swift springs and valved appropriately. My friend owns the company. Pretty sure they start out at $1200 a set. if its something you'd seriously be interested in PM me.
wow dude ur just firing out jokes.......I have just started to do my research on coils, my budget is in the 1 -1200 range I am not looking for anything serious but .from my understanding fotune500 are a great option....you can adjust damper settings etc...however I have not done full research on coils so am not fully knowledgeable on them yet.
Engine bay shots won't show you shit if it's stage 2. When my STI was stage 2 I had a Perrin drop in panel filter (CAIs have been known to cause issues with STIs, or at least I've heard), Perrin downpipe, Perrin catback, and a Cobb AP with a custom map from a tuner nearby. If you opened the hood you'd think it was completely stock. Stage 2 can easily be obtained for like $1500, and I'd much rather have performance mods before visual mods. Calling him out on his wheels only makes you look like VDubber stance queen.
wrong german brand but thanks. Car people know what to look for. While i agree most can be undetected, its easy to spot BOVs, FMIC, etc on an FBO car. Doing suspension work will help set all that power down and give purpose to it. Unless you are just driving in a straight line.
I'm not sure if I would be interested in NS adopting a "like" button similar to facebook..but in cases like this I would like this shit out of this reply
you seriously are posting the dumbest fucking things I have ever read, camber plates? seriously, most cars geometry get fucked up enough as is with coils and actually perform worse than having increased spring rates and re-valved shocks
and you said his car probably isnt fast because its stock ride height and stock wheels- really?
Dont talk shit if you don't actually have a clue about anything
camber plates are used to current the negative camber from lowering the car.. that and shorter sway bar endlinks as well. never said it wasnt fast either. people claim pretty hard online.
that is Bills drag setup, not his driving setup, most people dont daily slicks on $4000 wheels filled with nitrogen I hope you realize
he doesnt even have the car anymore, please inform me more of Bills car, I only worked on it for the last 3 years and had his old buschur block in my evo
I have an IS300.. I wanna put a roof rack on it. Anyone have any experience with that? I have no idea what brand or what I need. If anyone has done this Im also looking for a price estimate.
Stages were only relevant when cars like NA GC8s were getting swapped with WRX/STi drivelines. You can have ten different 'stage 2' cars with ten different turbos, ten different boost levels, ten different exhaust setups, etc...
I can go on and on and quote professionals that I've spoken to about this, but I figure you get the point. Way back when, stages told you how many STi components were swapped into the car.
I'm not going to disagree with you, since mostly stages mean nothing to people outside the make of your car. But it's very useful to describe your car.
Mine's a stage 2 tune, it's probably 40+ HP over a stage 1, so if you just say tuned, people may get the wrong idea.
All you guys are freaking out hahaha I only posted stage2 so people would have a general idea of the modifications that had been done (turbo back reflash tune intake) I personally dont refer to stages either.....
I think it's pretty common knowledge to Subaru people that when someone says "my STI is stage 2" they are referencing the fact that hey have some sort of turboback exhaust setup, upgraded air intake, and an ECU tune. People who drive Volkswagens probably know right away what someone is talking about when they say "My R is APR stage 2+." It's just how it is. Go take your stock beater shitbox wagon that you bought on Craiglist, stuff your elitism and "professional opinions" in the hatch, and drive into an angry herd of stampeding African animals. Mufasa would be proud.
i gather we all like cars.. i personally dont have a stage whatever since my I6 is NA and without putting 10k into it, its not worth it. BMW tuned the engines pretty well from the factory. Adding a chip, exhaust and intake would only bump it by 15hp. I like to just make it drive better by lowering it, stiffening up the suspension and pushing the wheels out to increase the track.
