thats sick... i wish the r32's were sold in canada.. i was looking at importing one for a while before i bought my mkv gti... the mkv r32's are sick too, too bad no manual though. one day i will own a golf r haha
im in canada, Calgary to be precise. amazing cars and there are quite a few up north now. my car was brought up from cali last summer, there are actually a few for sale in canada now
yeah, im over in vancouver and there are a few on craigslist and such, but for the most part theyre pretty damn expensive/close to overpriced.. upwards of $28k for an 08 with 99k miles on it... compared to an 08 down in seattle for around $24k usd with a little under half the milage
That must have been it. Might have seen him, we saw a bunch of slammed beamers and audis too. Plates from all the fuck over, new york, maryland, mass, even saw an Ontario or two and a couple Maine plates.
At least it made sitting in 4 hours of traffic interesting.
to a point, but i feel that driving somewhere to ski vs driving a car you bought and tuned/stanced/whatever for the purpose of driving it to show it off is a bit different.
i see it as someone buying bents or something to ride pow, and then bitching about how poorly they ride on ice/hardpack
on the 99 XJ - since your from vermont im guessing thats where the jeep is from, meaning its probably been in the rust belt for 12+ years so be sure to check the frame/body for rust. Other than the usual spots to check for a used 4x4, make sure the 4.0 isn't pissing oil especially out of the rear main seal which is a common problem with the 4.0. As long as its cheap, its definitely a good purchase for a first car there are tons of 90 xj's still cruising around new england
newer than 2000 and I think they are actually replacing the whole frames on some of em. They bought my 98 back at one and a half times blue book. Actually gave me more for the truck than I bought it for two years earlier.
Before that they weren't tacomas and were still made in japan so no rust issue at all.
I got a 98 t100, made in japan, no frame issue whatsoever.
I didn't think there could be any forums that were dedicated towards anything dumber than the tall-t's, vests, and fashion of this site; I guess I was wrong.
Can someone tell me what the fuck this thing does when it is introduced to a speed bump, pot hole, or even an elevated driveway?
hahahahaha exactly my thoughts. i was into it for a while when i first got my gti, thinking "yeah i can do cool stuff to my car" and then i realized how ridiculous that website is.
that car is probably on air ride suspension though, and is raised to actually drive faster than 1mph. i completely agree though, its ridiculous. people show off how much they can fuck up their subframe and steering/wheels/wheel arches/etc by lowering their car as much as possible until its literally undriveable because the car is sitting on the ground.
i see the appeal in lowering/stancing your car, it looks sick, but it gets to a point where it is just ridiculous
Yes sir, everything before 95 was just called a toyota pickup. 95 is when they gave it the tacoma name and started manufacturing in the states in tacoma plants. 05 they went to the bigger truck style that you see nowadays on the tacomas.
I liked the old smaller ones better honestly and of course I liked that they were not made here. Always felt the jap trucks were bomb proof because they were made in japan. I'd kill to get my hands on one of the diesel yota trucks you can by in anyotherfuckincountry but this one. (USA)
on air ride for sure, speed bumps aint no thing, plus if your not rubbin your not dubbin!. Its funny how the next guy mentioned how lowering a car will screw up your frame and w/e else, not the case if you do it properly. Most guys replace everything you would need to make it drive 100X better than stock even if they are only 3 inches about the ground. Myself I have bilstein PSS9 coilovers and everything else needed to run low like control arms and everything else.
Ya, a diesel tacoma would be nice. Don't you have to wait like 25 years to import a vehicle from Japan or something? Canada is lucky. I think it's only 15 here. I see a few Hilux's running around.
well of course if you do it properly is an entirely different story, but i was talking about a huge majority of the population of vwvortex, specifically the mkv forum. the amount of people in the "what did you do to your mkv today" thread who post about i replaced my oil pan/hit my oil pan/hit my subframe/replaced this or that because i drive at some absurd ftg (or whatever its called) for the sake of saying i have some absurdly low car on racelands or some shitty set of coilovers is ridiculous.
if youre going to do it, do it properly, its not worth dishing out for repairs that you WILL need to do, and will end up costing you more in the long run, when you can just do it properly in the first place
