thats the place dude tell Hartmut what up for me when you see him. we take all of our benzs straight to renntech. we have no benz right now though :(
anyways that c63 is beast I drove my boy Chip Ganassi's a few months back when I was at his house. He had literally just brought it home and wanted me to go break it in a little bit, thing was a fuckin beeeaasssttt. I cant tell but do you have the black seats(obviously you do) but with the red stitching? sooo hard!
Just to send some knowledge to you little cats out there, RennTech was started by the former lead engineer of AMG. Hartmut is a fuckin baawwwzzzzzzz. Had our Slr in car and driver a few times.
Yep - It's AMG through and through.... I love AMG. They're coming out with some mental stuff right now... the new CLS Flying Brake is a ridiculous car... but totally awesome... BMW M guys are scratching their heads somewhat at how AMG keep finding new gaps in the market. Especially in Europe.
Check out the 2012 C63 Coupe and Black Series ring times now - pretty impressive, especially the black.
They're the older style (pre-2012), and with circa 15000 miles on... I used to have an 09 before getting the new model year 2012. I bought mine brand new.. it had 19 miles on it.
Nah. He's got me Jealous as well. The noise on those AMG V8's are just tremendous. I've never riden or driven a C63 but, the SLS has a brilliant sound. And I from the outside the C63 sounded nice, low, and angry. Which is typical AMG style. I like.
the C63 and SLS have the best sound of all the AMG's. I rarely listen to music - just open the window.... and Tunnels.... well.... they're simply magnificent..
god damn. I just realized sdot was a girl..figured it was just the guy's girlfriend that was posing on the truck, never even thought it would be her rig
The gold Taco in the flex photo is my buddy, Corey's, rig. Yes, it's got had a SAS, but those are TSLs, not Boggers.
My truck is a 1983 pickup (stock solid-axle) with 37" Boggers, dual T-cases, 5.29s, KING shocks/bump stops, 3.4 motor swap, custom tubed bumpers/stinger/roll cage and air box, front and rear ARB air lockers, electric fan, etc... Lot of money into that baby.
For a little Toyota pickup? No way... That thing works like a champion for that little truck. I'm working on building my 4Runner now, and I'll slap a Warn 9.5Ti (also with kevlar line) on that one.
what year 4runner? Ive got an 85 locked front and rear on 35s. longfields, high steer, hydro assist, 5.29s, duals with 4.7s in the rear case. Need to steup up my winch game though, only a 5k warn that i need to use a snatchblock on must stuff. working on getting materials for my cage. thinking exo, but may change my mind and go internal. also have a om617 turbo diesel sitting in my garage waiting to be swapped in this winter.
Because I love GT car's, Ferrari are on a different level to every other car manufacturer and have been for the last 5-10 years (post 360 crap) and i'm not really a 911 fan for everyday use - the torque curves are too linear, so you need to drive like your hair is on fire all the time to find the real poke lurking at the top of the rev range... (flat 6 for you) where as these monster displacement beasts have torque in abundance all over the range... which, in every day driving, is a lot more fun. Not disputing that 911's are a great track car... but most 911 owners don't go within 100miles of a track. I test drove the new 991 CS though and i did love it (PDK gearbox is one of the best out there right now). But - in the US - 911's are over priced in my opinion (they do hold their value well though) - I was very tempted.
The 599 is an amazing all round car... i'm lucky enough to have driven a 599 and a 599 GTO.... i'd buy a 599 tomorrow if the prices would come down in the states like they have in europe!! (that's what gas prices do for you)....
Chris Harris, is not a fan boy of any car manufacturer - instead simply wanting to have as many different ownership experiences as possible and I love that. If i was living back in the UK again - I too would consider a GT3 - better gas mileage, and much better roads to play on... but 599 or GT3? 599 everyday for me.
Damn, I could never swap a non-Toyota motor (well, except maybe a Lexus, but same shit) into a Yota! However, it's badass that you're doing a turbo diesel and not the typical short block that everyone seems to do these days. My ex and I owned a 1985 BJ70, and I loved the diesel Toyota!
Anyway, my 4Runner is a '90 with the 22RE in it. For now, I'm just keeping that motor since it works fine for off-roading, and I'm just doing a mini build until I buy a new Taco (since the Runner is my daily driver). It'll eventually get a SAS, but right now, I'm just going to throw some Fox shocks on the front, swap in 4.88s, chop the shit out of the wheel wells and throw on some Buckwacker fender flares and a set of brand new 33" TSLs that I got for $400 (for all four), woop!
Well, at least your winch is a Warn, haha! But yeah, new ones definitely aren't cheap. Do you use cable or kevlar? I love the internal roll cage, but at the same time, it takes up a LOT of room in the already-small cab. I LOVE the '85s! I also had an '85 that was basically stock. It needed a new motor (had over 300K on it), and I left it with my ex when we split. Is yours regular or the extra cab? My ideal next off-road rig would be an '85 xtra and then lop the bed. Dual T and hydro steering is definitely the way to go. Love that shit! Nothing has helped me more with getting through and up crazy shit while wheelin' than having a bajillion gears.
