Hahahaha lost it at this. You don't drop an Audi into sport. You put it in an inch past drive lol. But also audis are fun as fuck to drive. I've driven my friends top of the line q5 and that thing ripped.

So long story short, I have 5 grand to spend on a car. I know it's not a ton of money but I want to get a project car I can build up to around 400hp. I was thinking Mustang 5.0 (either 80's or 99 and up). I was wondering if anyone else would like to drop it into sport mode and give me some suggestions on a vehicle.

I like how he titled the fox body as "wicked" nice haha definitely from NH....

67k miles on it is pretty awesome...the only thing I would be worried about is these mustangs tend to be beaten like a red headed step child for most of their lives, I would stay away from that 96 cobra just for that reason

Definitely have a trusted and intelligent mechanic give this thing a clean bill of health otherwise it looks like a pretty awesome car to hoon around in

Cause it's the only fox body I've found in "wicked" good shape that has really low miles. Im gonna keep looking though, hopefully find a 5 speed in the same shape as the red one.


And yeah ski_the_east, wasn't really planning on the 96 but its relatively close so I was considering at least checking it out. I know finding a mustang that hasn't been beat on is like finding a needle in a stack of needles so I'll keep sifting.

If any of you guys are perusing craigs in the new england area and find a 5.0 in decent shape, please send me a pm.

really in an older car its better.

it was probably adult owned, which means he took good care of it. and by the pictures that thing looks in perfect shape.

most people dont know how to drive a stick properly, they will grind the gears and ride the clutch heavy. especially at first.

you dont have to worry about buying a new clutch and gears.


If you were buying new or slightly used then I would smack you if you didnt by stick, but with an older car auto is better. You can always switch it out without having to do a ton of computer reflashing also.

I figured this thread would be a good place for a NSer car sighting. I was at Exeter Subaru in NH dropping off my WRX today and saw the same 04/05 WRB STi with yellow fogs parked in the employee area with the license plate "AFTRBNG." Might not be an NSer but I have a good feeling it is.. who are you?!?

im surprised im the first one to call you a retard.

autos fail at a wayyyyyy higher rate than manual trans cars.  if a manual breaks or blows a gear as you seem to think they do so often, then you can replace the gear, or broken part, if an auto trans blows up, you put a brand new tranny in there. and anyone who owns a fox body and cant drive a stick deserves to be shot, most people would learn on a shitter car then buy the high hp big v8 manual car.  not even gonna try t keep explaining if you dont get it by now then go kill ya self.

ok, if you are making an argument dont start by calling someone a retard and then telling them to go kill themselves at the end.

1. Never said they break so often, just that on an older car the gears are going to be worn. an auto shifts at the right point not having that issue.
2. You can replace parts on an auto, I am doing that now on my truck.
3. You would think most people would learn to drive stick on a shittier car, but how many do?
4. My point is that you have no idea how the guy treated his tranny, it is a safer bet to go with an auto and it has A LOT of potential.

hahah love it dude pure awsomeness.....i drove the next generation oddesy throughout highschool best car iv ever had. So much room, decently quick for the size, and could fit unlimited people and stuff in it. Also was suprisingly capable in weather and light off roading. Respect to the van dawg. Also the black rims are killing it hahaha. Mine was like dark grey god dam i miss that car

ya have fun paying for a new transmission though with an automatic... why do people also think that no one knows how to "properly" drive stick? what are you the shifting king or something and there is some magical formula to do it?? cars are meant to be user friendly not 1000 hp formula 1 cars

what makes you think you have to by a whole knew trans? have you ever worked on one? it works the same way, just take the components out and replace them.


the people who drive stick are the minority. as I said earlier you dont know if the guy knew how to shift it when he purchased it so it could have taken some abuse that over time becomes an issue.

It's an auto, cool...I dont fucking care. This is a project car, meaning I am buying it with the intention of modding it. When I can afford it I will be doing a manual change over but I dont mind doing some work to it before I do that.

This car is a steal. Trust me. I dont wanna buy a five speed thats already built. And there are no fox bodies in this condition that aren't convertibles or automatics so I'll take what I can get.

im not against buying an auto, especially with a car like your looking at, when a manual swap can be done and has been done too many times to count, and finding a clean one like you posted is hella tough in a manual, just saying that buying an auto is not the better option as far as reliability goes.
