A manual (with black interior) is easily 20.000-30.000 euro more.


It's not that bad since its my daily commuter and Dutch traffic is horrible.

But I do regret my choice.

Whenever I see a white turbo with black interior and manual come for sale I will immidiatley get that one.

This just proves how lazy Americans are, an automatic is more expensive then an auto here. I actually like that interior more than the black, just personal preference. Try to find someone who wants an automatic and trade!

shit bro watchout this dude is hardcore...maaannnn an automatic? What kind of pussy drives one of those. Auto's are way more efficient plus who wants to deal with shifting all the time in daily traffic. I drive a manual now and it sucks. Way to much work for every day driving.

I'm dutch my region accidentally lists US.

I never knew they had dutch license plates in the us.


But in Euro they know whats up: no one wants automatic 911's. therefore they tend to be cheaper.

majority of the 997 chasis 911's i see at work at are automatics. If you want to talk about performance, the new twin clutch porsche automatics outperform 6 speeds in all aspects. That being said, id still own a 6 speed :).

The sport mode/ launch control on the 911 with an auto is still very fun though.

pretty sure autos are more expensive because theyre a helluva lot more cmoplicated...

a manual is way cheaper to produce

also, an actual sports car in america will still be worth more with a stick, a diesel is worth more, but slower with a stick

Ok, quick question, didn't want to make a whole thread; I'm shopping around for cars right now cause my current beater is on it's deathbed. The only car I've truly fallen in love with is a vw gti (yes I looked at a wrx) and I'm just a bit worried about the fwd in the mountains (but with good winter tires). Anybody have winter experience with a golf/gti?

FWD is better in snow then RWD.

In the European Alps most people drive with a front wheel drive car and espaicially the VW golf.
It will work.

mk5 / mk 6 gtis are ok in snow. Will snow tires they are pretty much on par with any other car on the market. They dont have a mechanical LSD though, so they suffer a bit in that sense. My car has a mechanical LSD and i have snow tires, but i still can get stuck. Its just one of the things with 2wd cars, youre prob going to get stuck when it pukes more than a foot of snow unless you have miracle snow tires that are studded. And quite frankly I dont think i could drive on studded tires for half the year, so fucking noisy.

My dad is a lawyer in the rich neigbourhood of amsterdam and so is my mom.
And we were pretty wealthy but like a year ago my mom won a lottery: instant avaliable cash.

So yah, convinceng them wasn't that hard actually. I'm only child: they give me nearly everything I ask for.

A friend of mine is even worse, his dad owns a bright orange/goldish convertible Lamborghini Gallardo.
He sometimes takes it out and parks it right in front of cafes with hot girls and drinks some coffee.

No matter how little knowledge a girl has about cars the lambo makes them panties wet.


That thing must have gotton him laid so much. Porsches are plentiful in Amsterdam, some bitches won't even pay attention to them.

Turbo S's come with carbon ceramic brakes?.... i.e. yellow calipers (only colour porsche use for CC brakes).

Those are steel?

I don't mind the interior though....

That's because it's technically not a Turbo S.
It's a turbo that's later been upgraded by a Porsche dealer to a Turbo S.
To avopid outrageous taxes by the previous owner. But he forgot the brakes.


They are 330mm steels brakes front and back.
They are pretty potent already.



(No manual just look at things previously said. It saddens myself)

still isnt your car until you post some pics of you with it or like your username on a piece of paper in front of it. until you do that no one is really going to believe you.

i mean you said your mom and dad are rich because they are lawyers then you said your mom won the lottery.. like what is it, rich from being lawyers rich from the lottery?

BTW again the interior is more rare than black and 20-30,000 euros is like 35-45,000 american dollars. a manual and black interior is NOOOTTTTTTT gonna cost that much more.. you are fucking crazy if you try and say that.

I mean, since he bought it used maybe he couldn't really find a manual around the same price because no one was getting rid of one at the time. I'm not sure.

The whole situation doesn't really make sense to me either. If he posts some pictures someway to show that it's his Porsche I'll believe him, but really it's tough to make a point and show that you bought a really nice car and not have some way to prove it. Especially on the internet where you can say whatever the hell you please. So it's most likely a joke. If he does post pics though I'll stand corrected.

but by the same token, if he was making it up, why would he post a picture of a car then say that the interior color is not what he wanted? with the limitless amount of pictures that he could find, why would he say he couldn't find the one he wanted? just seems odd to make up a story about a car you have and say its not what you wanted. unless he is trying to make his story seem more believable and the lie about this being his car more intricate.
