04 forester. Would like to Sti swap. Already blew one turbo and I have other things I need to spend money on.
Did you swap the stock catted uppipe for a catless one when you replaced the turbo? The cat in the stock uppipe is a ticking time bomb. Eventually it will fail, and shards of cat will be sucked through your turbo and destroy it.
I replaced my td04 with a newer one with less shaft play because I didn't have the funds after rebuilding to go with an upgraded turbo. The stock td04 is often overlooked, especially if your car is just a DD and you aren't chasing numbers. With a tune it can push 18 psi before becoming a hair dryer. It may have no top end power but it will spool quicker than just about anything else.

Sadly it is an automatic but I am planning on swapping the trans, diff, hubs, axles, turbo, IC, Up pipe, ECU, and fuel pump with all STI parts this summer. The trans and diff may have to wait a lil longer than that cause I'm in school right now and on a tight budget. Love the car, got it for a great price. I live in salt lake and its perfect for whipping up the canyons in the snow. Really the only complaint I have about the car is that its not great on gas. If anyone knows of a place around the salt lake area where i can get STI parts please let me know!

Not that I can even remember how many years ago I posted in this thread, but it's not the stock tcr-c1, and it's quite literally a Giant team bike, and in 2008 you couldnt buy an aluminium race bike for less than $4000, let alone carbon, so wherever you got that from is frankly, total bullshit.
Sold my evo x for a nice profit bought a Forester xt for deals now I need to sell my 99 forester so I can have the right chunk of change to pick up the right evo 9. Life's going great for having a broken hip. Just been selling my cars for bank and picking up steals. Will post up a photo of both foresters since I haven't contributed them to this yet.

My G got sideswiped so that kinda sucked because I needed a new front bumper but it forced me to go to the bodyshop and get my duckbill trunk put on it. Will look even better with a diffuser and I got the GTR overlays that I need to put on as well. I'm applying to get vanity plates "G3RSTY7", if it gets approved think that's any good or will people be clueless?
Was looking at getting a cheap used legacy GT but the guy who had the one I was most interested in ended up being a huge douche and that burned me out on the used car search so I got a new WRX as a daily. Amazing car to drive up to the mountains as you don't even have to downshift ever just stay in boost. Miss the fuck out of my TSX sometimes though
Brothers s70 is actually fucking sick. Lowered on BC coils, t16 turbo (upgrading to t18 when he can afford the parts car), turboback exhaust, wrx front lip, stage 2 tune. He doesn't have the money now to put his Mishimoto intercooler on but maybe within the next month or so. I haven't been stoked on a car in a while but he did it. And since he's losing his license I get to drive it at wolfsgart in august to show it off #stoked.
Please tell me he has the prancing moose Ferrari sticker on it by now...
Got the forester protuned a couple weeks back and it's running better than ever. Still needs some odds and ends to be perfect. My tuner couldn't get the stock boost controller to push past 15psi so I gotta get a new EBCS so I can turn that boost up to 18-19psi. Also need a knock sensor cause mines all crystallized and giving me (what I hope) is just false knock.
Oh and I hit a snowbank on saturday night and tore my passenger front fender liner out. I'm debating replacing it with a cut-to-size piece of a trash can rather than pay for the overpriced OEM shitty thin piece of plastic.

Haha nah but soon. He actually bent one of the timing rods with all the mods. Is putting about 315-325 to the wheels right now. He's starting to work on getting forged internals.

No I actually picked it up how it is minus the kartboy plate delete and sti wheels. For 6000 not bad imo has full exhaust, accessport, intake, sti hood scoop, sti lip that I haven't installed yet and sti takeoff suspension. Sourcing a vf43 and sti tmic right now.

Damn you're lucky to pick that up for that price. What kinda mileage? I paid 7k for the same car with similar mods (minus the body trim pieces) and then had to rebuild the engine.. so mine cost double what yours did and the thought of that makes me sick.. haha

^ this guy lol but no it's not a huge downgrade i sold my evo with the intention of getting another 9 and picked this up to use as my daily driver as I'm going to sell the sf5 which I picked up to daily. So it's not a downgrade man

It's a downgrade from an Evo but not a very bad one, still an xt and will be good in snow....it's just a little to low

The xt is probably the smartest daily but I'd still take an X over all, even though I love Evo 9s the X is a better option too me.

Yeah I mean I got 26k for the evo x so I made my money back from mods and also made some cash. So if I sell my forester I'll have enough for a mint evo 9. And having owned an evo 9 and an x I prefer the rawness of the 9 over the X
a r32 gtst sedan keeps popping up in my town for sale. it's been through like 6 owners and it's literally trashed but I feel like if I buy it, drop a new tranny into it and send it to the states it'll be a ridiculous amount of profit...
thoughts? I could probably get a big enough loan to buy the thing outright as of right now and really freak my parents out lol

Not exactly the best on gas at ~12mpg but it's reliable and gets me everywhere and anywhere. I'm currently saving for an older (02-06) wrx or an 05 Legacy GT. I'm leaning toward the lgt as I found one for a fair price in my area.
Also a question for you as a fellow G owner, and for any mechanical minded people, my car is making a pulsating base noise from the right side (I wanna say front but not sure). It only happens on the highway 65 or above and last for a minute or so then goes away. Not too much vibration or pull but definitely a rotational noise. It literally sounds like a subwoofer pulsating and gets louder with speed. I'm thinking alignment or feathering tires it's just weird that it goes away after a minute or two.

there's been a lot of demand coming out of the states because of the whole import rule thing and gtst sedans go for like 2x what they were 3 years ago because of that.
that and an rb40 would be super fucking fun, a guy I used to ski with is in the middle or possibly the end stages of swapping a 2j into a s14. s-chassis love straight sixes lol
Picked up an evo 8. I really wish my phone would let me add photos. It let me for the xt and that's it and damn the process of uploading to my imgur then posting takes forever
