JakeSmithWhat car is it
Granite_StateSo my magnaflow catback failed inspection even though I still have the cat, resonator, and muffler. Apparently its not a chambered muffler and to pass inspection it needs to be. Sounds like some mechanic BS. Anyone have a problem like this?
Titus69The only thing NH gives a damn about with exhausts is having a straight through exhaust, thats why my brother put silencers in his vibrant muffler, he too has a cat and a resonator.
Granite_StateAnd Im pretty sure thats what magnaflows are. Do silencers really work? Do you know what brand he used or just the cheap ebay ones? Im not trying to get a new muffler here to pass inspection.
Titus69They certainly do work it made a big difference in sound. Ill ask him where he got them, his muffler has two 3" tips and he just hammered them in so they wont be easy to get out. I wonder if maybe a place like Lous custom could make them for you. Ill ask him where to find them when he wakes up.
Granite_StateWord cause I have two 3" tips as well. That would save me a lot of $$$ and headache
Titus69Yeah at low speeds it sounds kinda crappy but inside and outside when he floors it it sounds cool, more engine noise of the 4g63 when inside and just a cool sound when you hear it from the outside, the vr will probably still sound good.
Granite_StateNope I was an idiot and tossed it. But its not an emissions problem, they are claiming its a noise problem...
slick_rickI have a catback magnaflow with just resonatoes on my 2.0T and passed NH inspection in less than 5 minutes. I guess it just depends on who you go to

Granite_StateYeah im probs gonna try and take them out after haha. This whole straight through law is fucking stupid. If it was chambered it would pass, even if it was louder. So dumb.
Titus69So I was just watching the Top Gear perfect road trip and I noticed that when Hammond was in the 2015 stingray it was the 7 speed manual but the steering wheel had paddles on it? Why?
mmallender.if i remember correctly, the paddles on the manual operate the rev matching on/off? or something random and stupid like that

Granite_StateHmmm probs what Im gonna do. I do think the VR might be a little louder than a 2.0t but yeah this seems like BS. My buddy recommended a place so Im gonna check it out. Im just afraid to keep driving, already got two tickets (and most likely 4 points on my license) so Im trying to be careful and limit my driving.

taj.I believe the 370z does that as well
theabortionatorNew ride again
slick_rickperfect skimobile. 5 speed or auto? I used to have a 5 speed forester and it was awesome
Titus69Finally got to drive a manual on the road tonight, friends new Volvo 850, super fun car and the inline 5 sounds excellent! Hopefully I can drive it more and make it become second nature. Only stalled once, wasn't really paying attention and let out to soon.
theabortionatorYeah, it get's pretty normal. Honestly get weirded out some times driving auto. I'm like wtf oh yeah it's an auto.
Every car is a little different but if you get one, once you get a feel for where the clutch engages and how it shifts, as well as shifting through the gears in general it's not even anything you think about.
theabortionatorYou can get some killer gas mileage as well. Also having control over the vehicle is nice. Especially in winter.
Driving in traffic blows though.
Nothing worse than a standard in start stop traffic for a few hours. Especially if you have long legs. You get all cramped up and it's no fun. I've stopped and opened my door to stretch my legs many times in traffic. Only time I'm like "Fuck, I wish I had an auto"

CirilloSometimes I hop in other peoples cars and stomp on the brake with my left foot when I go to start it. I'm like oh yeah it's an auto my left foot gets to chill.
theabortionatorLol ive done that. The mini van my mom had had this super wide brake. Def borrowed it a few times and screetched to a stop thinking i was pushing the clutch in lol. Felt smart

This truck would be so dope as a live in truck, the third picture, I could ski bum for so long in this thing
MoosenWell, finally got my car up and running the other day. Buttoning up wiring and making axles now. But here is just after the first start with a little mild anti lag. Tuned and built by me completely.

Titus69Ok I know WRXs are good cars and Id totally own one but holy shit I just saw 10-15 in less than a mile. If only Evos were as common....
taj.never move to Colorado
WordupVTWell, here she is. Bad turbo and all. Fully built motor, stroked/bored out to almost 2.1L, stage 3 clutch, AEB large port head, 6 speed tranny.
Planning to run a mellow tune around 15psi on the new GT3076r for the fall and winter (hopefully a little over 300awhp) and then amping it up in the spring.
Titus69Absolutely sexy man, looks perfect.
WordupVTThanks, really wish it was perfect ahaha. Many little things need to be done along with the turbo and a re-route of the coolant lines. Plan on ripping out the rear seats and doing a half-cage and dropping some bucket seats in the front. Supposed to be every 100 pounds you drop is 3% added boost pressure, so I'll be going for some weight reduction in the spring.
Titus69That sounds awesome, you gonna track it?
WordupVTPossibly, but there aren't really any good tracks near me, I'de love to take it to limerock or something though. Mostly just a build for daily use and fun.
