CirilloAnybody run water/meth injection?
MoosenI have tuned a couple water/meth injected setups. What's your question?
xX*TACO-DOG*Xxfull titanium or bust
slick_rickWent with a 3" catback system from a local custom exhaust shop with dual Magnaflow mufflers/resonators and custom 4" tips over the stock ones which I think are only about 2. Stoked on how it turned out
lots of background noise as it's from my phone but you can kinda hear it in this video, its a lot louder in person
CamembertYeah well I want a cheap but fun driving daily. An NC with the foldable hardtop would be ideal but with some mods out of my price range for now. A more pure MX5 might be even more fun though so now I'm looking at an NB. Just found out about those fastback hardtops as I was looking at normal hardtops. A convertable is not necesarry for me and I really like how they look. Together with these more retro looking round tail lights you can get a unique kind of oldschool looking car with rear wheel drive for pretty cheap.
Those fastback hardtops are just not easy to get over here..
Anyway if anyone has one or knows more about it let me know. I have some questions about the trunk, waterproofness, combination with roll bar, windows etc. If not I'll throw myself in some of the miata forums..

Spagett+God Miatas are gay as buttsecs
Titus69Sounds good man! My mom has the same car and its super fun to drive especially when I need to get up to highway speed and it handles pretty good, just wanna take it off her hands since she wants a new car soon.

slick_rickThanks! Yeah, you totally should take its an amazing ski-mobile. Driving on the highway is such a pleasure in this car, especially having 6th gear
CirilloHoping you'd be the one to answer hahaha. Just if you'd recommend it for a dd. I'm kind of torn between e85 and w/m. I originally was all about doing a flex fuel kit whenever cobb dropped theirs, but now I'm reading about people losing HPFPs running e85. w/m will also help keep my valves clean since people are already reporting lots of carbon build up on them.
MoosenI wouldnt worry about "keeping valves clean" really too much, by just driving the car hard here and there and with a proper tune that is tailored to your car, that should not be an issue.
Doesn't the driving the car hard to clean valves not really apply to DI engines? From what I've seen on nasioc the FA valves build up carbon pretty quickly.
I was looking at aquamist, coolingmist or devils own kits. I'd also have it installed and tuned by a shop very familiar with Subarus. It's not something I'd want to cheap out or cut corners on so I'm fine with paying to play.
BrentizzleWould it surprise you if I said I have put just over $2k into this car? Everything is done by myself and I've managed to get get deals/sponsorships where ever possible.
Its a normal 2.3L mazda 3 with an intake and exhaust and that oil cooler. Lots of custom diy suspension mods and a big beefy skid plate. Its on raceland ultimo coilovers (say what you want but they ride fine and get low). I wrapped the car myself and did the widebody myself. The company that makes my wheels sponsored my car so I got like 70% off.
I love when people ask me where it was built or who wrapped it or how much I've spent and I blow their minds. Resourcefulness goes a long way. I'm getting a set of corbeau RRS racing seats in exchange for some video work as well.
Thanks for appreciating my car for what it is. I'm super happy with it!
xX*TACO-DOG*Xxlove the car but i'm honestly curious on how you get sponsored for a car. obviously lots of exposure on social media helps but how do they know that you're going to be worth the sponsor?
p.s. the coverage you guys did on driven was awesome. definitely one of my favourite car videos.
Titus69So I mentioned a while back my diff would sqweak if I were to try spinning the tires on dirt or snow, well I had my guy change my diff fluid and for a while it was gone but as of the beginning of summer it came back again and its pretty on and off, why did it come back so quickly?
taj.you have a 240 right? What diff is in it now?
Find a g80 from a newer 9xx and toss that bitch in
Granite_StateLol is that what they are calling crv's nowadays

Titus69Alas the 240 rusted its way out of my life in February of 2014, I now have a 2001 CRV, I wish I still had the 240, the crv is boring. I wouldve done a bunch with the Volvo if I still had it.
taj.Aiy :(
Titus69Dude I miss it, even though chicks didnt love it at school I did, the exhaust it had, the jdm stickers and the blacked out stock wheels made it fun to me. I had good memories in it but although its not as fun, the crv has some better memories. I kinda wanna get a beater one for rallycross but Im leaning toward fwd to learn good driving and then so on into stage rally, Ill have another 240 I swear on it.
Granite_StateLol.
But while we are on the subject of volvos, by bro has a s70 with a t5 turbo and I kind of want it. Having an N/A car is nice and all but the sound of the wastegate releasing pressure on that thing makes me feel funny in my nether region.
JakeSmithVolk te37's
JakeSmithI'm constantly having ideas swirling around my head of crazy stuff to do to a 240 wagon, like a Blown big block hemi, Big single turbo 2jz, cummings 4bt or 6bt, or a turbo'ed bmw s50, etc. My dream would be an early model maroon wagon on coilovers with Volk te37's, and to top it off a LS7 with a t56 magnum.
Titus69Driving my mom's Audi is fun to listen to sometimes a small sound of turbo spook but then a loud bov sound comes in. I want a mk4 vr6 golf for rally purposes and for a quick fun daily, is it worth it?
Granite_StateObviously im biased but yeah. Just remember maintenance is paramount. And try to get the 24v, more power, more torque, better interior options, and not to mention one of the best sounding motors out there.
taj.Lol I hope you know what you're doing..
Titus69Yeah Ive been looking into smaller hatchbacks to get after highschool like a golf or ep3 Si. Is maintenance expensive?
Granite_StateIve spent 1500- 2000 in maintenance in 4 years of ownership. Half that cost was because my dad made me get work done at the stealership when I first got it. The motor is very strong, never had an issue. Pait holds up well too. Where youll run into problems is the water pump, bushings, and brakes but most of that is normal wear and tear. Just hit up vwvortex, they have an entire thread dedicated to the mk4 vr6 and all the potential problems that go with it as well as all the diy's you need to adress them. Its a fucking amazing car, just maintain it and treat it right and it will run for anlong time.
JakeSmithHaha no, these are all fantasies reserved for the day I can actually knowledgeably transplant a drive train with my own hands and my wallet can handle the abuse that would ensue. For now I will continue to love my 2000 Honda Accord 2.3l 5mt in the summers and trusty singlespeed bike during the school year. Realistically though my next car will be a high mileage, late model, 240 wagon, with a stock engine, maybe some lowering springs and some black steelie wheels. At most maybe a junkyard turbo setup
Don't you/didn't you drive a 240? I thought I remember seeing you talk about one in this thread one time

Titus69Is that lifted or are the tires big? I like it
xX*TACO-DOG*XxLOLOLL no it's stock height right now. it's sitting on 225/40r18's and springs are going in sometime this week so it should start looking a little more normal soon.
Titus69Ohh ok lol. I like the color

Slurpsicle.Time to let the 4runner go, picked up this bad boy last week. 2011 WRX Limited with a Cobb stage 2+ tuning kit, color matching boost gauges, and a bluetooth Pioneer deck, amp and sub. Have many things in store for the future of this project. Super Stoked!

Titus69Nice! I may see about 4 million a week but the hatches are still so good looking.
bfulmerLooks good!
I really wish they made a hatch with the 2015 body styling.

CirilloAgreed. I definitely would've bought the hatch over the sedan.
JakeSmithWell there is the Levorg, but it just doesn't look right to me
