A lot of vr6s aren't that powerful. Depends on the model and how they tune it from the factory

what will you use it for? i love my miata which fits into that budget, but i have the luxury of being able to borrow my dads car if i want to go skiing because a light weight rear wheel drive car doesnt mix well with snow

can't go wrong with an older subie with the 2.2L engine. it's basically bombproof, got my old 97 up to 400k before it wasn't worth fixing.

I ordered some VWR sport springs but they're on backorder right now. Should be about a 1" drop. The back end looks super 4x4 mode in that picture because the grey part of the driveway is sloping up into the garage. Still could use a little less wheel gap haha.

I personally think it looks sick the way it is. The wheels are a nice contrast to the body. I don't really like the black on black on black look, but that's just my opinion. If you are going to go the black wheel route, DON'T plasti-dip your current wheels. Plasti-dip is so fucking gross and chips way too easily.

O.Z. Ultraleggeras would be a pretty good choice, IMO. They look pretty close to your stock wheels and are lightweight. O.Z makes some strong non-forged wheels from what I have read.

Ive been looking for a summer project recently. I came across this gem (An 85' Porsche 944) and Im picking her up tuesday. Needs a starter motor to get it running. Also gonna need a hell of alot of body work and the front end is a little fucked on one side. The guy wants 1100, Talk me out of it guys haha.

if you're going bmw I would think you could afford something nicer than plasti dip wheels. tinted windows would look good. I'm over black wheels but whatever you're feeling.

oh man.... firstly... do you have a garage and are competent with a wrench? if not.. walk away.

you're looking at probably 6-10K$ to get things up and running properly.

with that being said.. this thing is just asking for an LS swap.


again...if you can wrench it yourself I'd offer the guy 500$ and call it a day.

go and join rennlist and pelicanparts forums. those are THE definitive porsche/944 forums.

This is what I was going to post haha. I've seen 944s in much better shape (running, need no major body work) for about $3500 - $5000 in the classified forums on Pelican Parts. For the amount of time and work you'd have to put into that one, I feel like it would end up being more expensive anyway.

yeah, honestly. from my experience (and ask ANYONE who is half familiar with these cars)... NEVER buy a car in maintenance debt. 944's are very reliable, and don't need much IF you get one that has been maintained.

hell mine was in 'great shape' when I bought it and I've still dumped 4 grand into suspension/bushing, control arms and brake rotors. they are worth it, as long as you know what you're getting yourself into.

buying a body-damaged non-runner (probably needs brakes/suspension/clutch? other bits) isn't a very smart way to get into it, especially when you can buy a nicely kept NA car for 4-6 grand.

probably an R5 T variant. (they're all rwd by the way!).

I know the audi 5's and especially LS1 swaps are popular for NA 944 owners.. considering those engines are fairly breathless.

Thanks to all others for an opinion. Yeah I just said plasti dip since you can just peel it off whenever you want. I'm definitely tinting, and I might just buy some rims, guess Ill have to see. Thanks though!

this is my 2001 sunfire. had it for a couple years now and i think i want to make it look a bit cooler.
its already stickered up on the back and has the subs for fun, but i want some cheap ideas for sprucing up the exterior
was thinking about painting the wheels black?
i dunno im not a car guy, so tell me something cool i could do. window tint is already pretty dark
