I think the fake watch comparison is a pretty good one. A brand new 2013 a5 is not exactly a "cheap suit". Your comparison would be more like buying the HREs and putting them on a Chrysler 300 or something.. Not an audi a5. Sure it's not an rs but it is definitely not a cheap car. I'm starting to lean towards the vossen vvs cv3 after looking at some other a5s with them. They are clean and simple.
first, never said cheap suit, said cheapest designer(expensive brand) suit.
second, by saying fake watch, youre implying that bbs/vmr/whatever other wheels are fake, where you CAN find very cheap versions of the hre/bbs/enkei/vmr/whatever wheels.
third, never said your a5 was a cheap car, only that hre wheels costing 1/5th of what you paid IS excessive. i apologize for coming off that way, again, your car is sick, but i think paying that much for wheels to go on a "cheap" audi (cheap as in, compared to the rest of the audi lineup). to be honest, you could have saved that hre wheel budget and picked up an s5.
fourth, a fully loaded chrysler 300 can cost just as much as an a5, and more. just thought id point that out.
again, your car is sick, as i have said before, pay what you want for wheels, BUT personally, paying that much for wheels that look just like every other company's wheels is ridiculous. that money could be spent much better elsewhere imo
Even if you option out the "Prestige" A5 with the auto transmission, S-line package, and optional driver-assist package, you just barely graze $55,000. Either your parents bought you THE most fully decked out A5, or you're full of shit. I'm going to assume the latter. The base A5 starts at like $37,000.
For what it's worth, you can option out a Chrysler 300 to over $58,000.
Ridiculous, expensive wheels or not, what I'm still trying to understand about this whole thing is that if you don't give a shit about spending that much money on top of the price of the car, why didn't you just get an S5 instead of the A5 to begin with?
Because I got a good deal on the a5. They weren't willing to deal on an s5 and like I said before, this was not a car purchase directed at performance, but looks.
The 300 was just an example because typically I see people putting wheels on base models and trying to pull of a Bentley or rolls style look. Obviously you can option them to be expensive, but if you ask me, you'd have to be an idiot to option out a Chrysler over a well equipped Audi of any model.
Forgive me for assuming someone so absolutely butt-fucking stupid when it comes to anything about cars, including his own, is 16. You clearly don't know shit about shit, so I'm done arguing with you.
Because I want $6000 wheels? You call everyone an idiot, and frankly you are the least liked member on this website because of it. I have no issue with you but I do appreciate your opinion on my wheels
you guys got a little off topic but i agree with you. cars on the lot are always cheaper than if you ordered directly from the manufacturer... everyone knows this
wait so when i said earlier in the thread "as long as u arent mooching off ur parents" i was right? oh well, ur parents have money and buy u nice things, thats cool if im rich when im older id get my kids nice shit too as long as they arent douchey little pricks
No, I have a suffentient income. And I am paying it off. I hope you are not directing that comment at me..? If I am rich when I am older i will also buy my kids nice things, but this was a "gift" from my parents
Definitely not spoiled, and if I came off as bitchy I wasn't trying to be, I was just trying to get my point across. That is that I will buy whatever wheels I want to buy, using my own money, to make me happy. And I have taken into consideration everyone's ideas to save money by buying look-a-likes.
Instead of making a thread I'm just going to come here for car suggestions. I need a car for school and skiing. I'd like something that could handle winter conditions well and I really know hardly anything about cars. Price range is up to about $6500. I've looked at some 2004/05 ford explorers and some 2003/04 Volkswagen passat wagons. Any suggestions or things to look for?
Low mileage! AWD is preferred, but FWD with snows isn't bad. You have to decide how many times per winter you're actually going to be driving through deep enough snow to use an SUV, so I wouldn't rule out a hatch or sedan with a rack on top either. Are you paying for gas? That's another thing to consider if you're considering an SUV. Look around on Autotrader for good deals in your area based on your specific search criteria.
Oh, and prepare your anus for NS to bombard you with their expert opinions on used Audis with 200,000 miles and WRXs.
maybe the RS5 in no way the s4 or RS4. The S4/RS4 os for people who can't afford the s6 or s8 and want to look like the fucking man driving around in some small little car. Adults look retarded driving in them there so dam small
After only four months my little Abarth is gone, company wants to be more environmentally friendly. I better not get a Prius.
The downside of leasing, at least they are paying for it.
This is a stock image but mine was exactly the same.
Yep thats pretty much it. I wanted something sporty, good looking, but i could also drive to work when i graduate without looking like a kid. I'm not really a mustang/corvette guy.
